1. Stop getting mad at Jace
2. Stop getting mad at people who get mad at Jace

Both derail the thread and seem to come out of the wordwork more during a lull in the action/content.

SO to get the ball rolling again.
Has anyone thought about the difference in electrical outlets used in Israel versus America? Looking at these picture you can see they use a different standard.

Why do I bring this up? Couldn't Eli simply buy an adapter? Absolutely he could. He would need an adapter in order to charge both his laptop and phone which he was sending so many tweets from. But remember....Eli didn't even get "Islams" until his third day in Israel. There is no way his phone would have lasted that long and he couldn't have purchased an adapter until that third day with his new shekels. And no...he isn't smart enough to bring one from home.

I'm getting a bit too minor and I'm not going to make some massive speculation, but its fun to think about little holes in the operation like this.
Take from this what you will. Keep going Eli.
I'm too lazy to look for it but I'm very sure this got covered earlier in the thread. But good read nonetheless.

Then again-- USB charger.

Regardless of the local power, almost everything these days charges off USB. All Eli would need is to walk into any supermarket and spend 5 islams or so on a local USB wall wart. I think even Eli is capable of working that out.

And even if he can't, most USB charger wall warts can take a wide range of input voltages. The $5 one I'm holding in my hand is labeled to take anything from 100 volts AC to 240, 50 to 60 Hz, so even if Eli just jammed his U.S. charger into an israeli islam socket (230VAC50Hz), it would probably work for him so long as he doesn't smash it too badly. Given his addiction to runescape, I would actually be surprised if he hadn't worked out some charging scheme ahead of time, even if it is a stupid one.

tl;dr: If Eli's sharp enough to keep his toys charged at home he's probably sharp enough to keep them charged in israel.

:glaive:

Yeah, I thought the pen crossbow was a joke that ended up being taken as canon

Jace referred to it as a poison crossbow, IIRC.
Which is really stupid because there's no such thing: the crossbow itself isn't poison, it's the tip of the bolt.
(Yes, I know they're idiots who learn almost everything they know about weapons from video games, but it still bugs me.)

The viable battlefield use of toxins on any edged weapon is very problematic for more than a few reasons.

Firstly, most poisons that act quickly enough to be of use are neurotoxins. Organic or inorganic in origin, they're usually hard to find, some don't last that long, most are very illegal to own, they're expensive, and frankly all of them are dangerous as fuck to handle because most can be absorbed through the skin.

Secondly, the proper application to the edged weapon of choice and it's use is tricky. Since metal/hard plastic isn't porous, not only do you have to have specialized weaponry built for it, AND an uber-dangerous container of poison handy, you also have to have a specialized application system. You don't want to be waving around a knife with it flipping drops of potassium cyanide everywhere, or have it drip down on your hand.

Thirdly, even given the best-case scenario on all the above- I.E.- a supply of viable toxin prepared in a stable, easily transferable solution/compound, a safe and easy to access containment/applicator, AND a custom edged weapon to apply it to a target...using all of this successfully in a battle situation requires a prerequisite degree of competence in the operative using it that is light-years above Eli's apparent operating level, both tactically and strategically.

And finally, the whole poisoned crossbow/dagger/dart thing is just fantasy fodder BS anyway. In the modern military, if you want to covertly take out a target from far away, you just use a suppressed rifle. Quick, relatively easy compared to this, and the supplies are found in any standard armory.

Yeah, I'm starting to think Operation Tupacalypse might be a little silly.
