I've been trying to put my finger on why I dislike plurals so much and I think I've found the answer. Fair warning I'm going to get kind of philosophical here.

The basic idea that human beings are collective entities is, in fact, technically true. You can be poked with a needle, and then we can examine it under a microscope to find that humdreds if not thousands of indivdual creatures make up the biological matter spilled from that wound. We're all made up of cells, and those cells though primitive do have their own form of free will. Sometimes even turning into cancer and threatening our lives directly because they choose their own survival over that of the greater whole. Neurons, too, are also living creatures, though they are far less mobile and much more dependent on each other. We know for a fact that they create specific networks and patterns between each other, and don't always communicate with the greater whole efficiently. That I accept all of these facts means I should hypothetically be open to the idea of plurals.

If you found any of the above interesting you can probably see why I dislike plurals, because I would bet you serious cash that absolutely none of them could rattle off even a single fact I posted above. Instead they lapse into buzzwords, they label parts of themselves after fictional characters, they seem to display little to no creativity and crucially there seems to be an ongoing theme of childhood trauma or having a fucked up life with these people. They are, almost to the last thought, completely irrational. Which is infuriating, as I personally wouldn't mind exploring having a bicameral mind or different personalities. I could probably jaw with people for hours on the idea.

I think it got posted here awhile ago but there was some kid on tumblr relating plurals to the idea of tranny "eggs". The post read as "if trans people are eggs then us plurals are glass eggs, because when we're smashed we can never put the pieces back together fully".

I dunno, I think that speaks for itself. What we're looking at isn't just a collection of lolcows, but really sick and damaged people who probably need professional help and a bunch of sedatitives.

That's one of the more interesting things about them, I think. They all do have some sort of mental derangement, it just isn't MPD, because MPD is fake. Whatever makes people become like this could be studied and have papers written about it. It has all these very clear diagnostic criteria, from their narcissistic actions, to their self-delusion, to the way they use people, and even to their rapidly shifting obsessions.

It's got to be some kind of modern mental illness, or an old one expressed in a new way because of some part of modernity.

Oh god. I actually looked at that chart in earnest and shat a brick when I noticed that little section dedicated to Walk-Ins.

For anyone unaware, Walk-Ins are disembodied personalities that can apparently just phase into your head and seize control of you. The lore about them differs based on what kind of fucking crazy person you're talking to, but there's a camp that says Walk-Ins can just do that whenever they want and another camp that says you have specifically allow them in by doing... something? Its never precisely clear how you're supposed to leave your mind open for these things.

If these people are somehow right and Walk-Ins exist, that basically means we're living in this horrible nightmare universe where you can just get possessed out of nowhere. If I seriously gave that scenario any thought I'd surround myself with garlic, rabbit's feet, Nazars and whatever else supposedly keeps ghosts away because absolutely fuck that. But even from an outside perspective, these people are LARPing as being possessed. If its a fantasy or a delusion, what the fuck causes these people to pick something so absolutely horrible to fantasize about? I'd almost rather take my chances getting skullfucked by a ghost than I would having to spend any amount of time in a room with one of these people.

You don't. You just invent a new one on the spot depending on the trend of the day. It's the ultimate way to get one up on someone or claim moral superiority. You're a disabled transgender woman? Have you met my alter, a disabled transgender woman of color? You were in a traumatic car accident? Have you met my alter who invented the automobile but was sadly crushed by his own creation and thus lived out the remainder of his days as a cripple and also he's pansexual?

It’s just stupid kids/manchildren who are quantifying different emotions as different "personalities" so they can claim they’re unique, and them trying to “force a switch” is literally just them trying to get themselves to feel a different emotion.

You ever get sad about something and then you start thinking other things that make you sad that you normally never think about? You ever get angry and small things inconveniences in your everyday life you don’t normally notice suddenly start to really get on your nerves? You know how when you’re horny you start thinking about a bunch of bullshit but after you coom you’re like “what the fuck why was I thinking about that?”

People such as the ones highlighted in this thread would tell that those are not separate emotions, but separate people.

This is retarded for obvious reasons, and it’s also not MPD/DID/whatever it gets called these days. That disorder is a form of extreme psychosis that isn’t fun roleplaying uwu bullshit.

Someone made a google doc (pics provided below. They used to contain her censored nudes but those have since been removed by the doc creator) calling her out for sexualizing her child alters. Ice Age Baby retweeted it and Alternative System went off on her for posting it without asking her if it was true or not.

She’s DFEed today so I can’t show you evidence of her explanation, but I’ll try to summarize. Alt says that she was being trafficked and forced into sexualizing her alters by her pimp. She says that her pimp and strangers forced her to do piss play while she was her age regressed 8 year old alter. She is no longer with that pimp and allegedly none of this was her fault. In fact, that 8 year old alter is suicidal now.

Fast forward a few days and Alt is still railing against IAB for retweeting the document, even though IAB has apologized publicly and privately. Alt thinks that IAB’s public apology was too vague but IAB says that she didn’t name any names because she didn’t want her followers to attack Alt.

2 days ago Alt’s 8 year old alter took a serrated stake knife and sliced open her thigh down to the fat layer. She then posted the gore to her twitter account without a TW and said “IAB made me do this”. Everyone who follows Alt told her that it was fucked up to post that and encouraged everyone to block Alt so that they wouldn’t be triggered.

Originally, Alt didn’t want to delete the gore or apologize to IAB. After enough people disowned Alt she finally ~saw the error of her ways~ and deleted it. She spent the rest of the day apologizing for it. Also her boyfriend dumped her for being a nut job at some point between her slicing her thigh open and posting it to Twitter, causing her to potentially lose her housing. She makes a lot of money but can’t find new housing because of her criminal record of violence.

Alt claims that they’re checking themselves into in-patient and has since purged their twitter account.

ETA: of minor interest, Alt has a YouTube channel where she mocks Chloe. I’m not gonna archive any of the videos because they’re mostly not worth watching.

For everyone else who hasn’t been following along, this person has been in the replies of all of Alt’s meltdown tweets telling Alt that all the people disowning them are Haterz and that they don’t owe anyone an apology or explanation for going psycho on the timeline (photos attached)
