If he has good credit, a decent downpayment, a steady stream of income, and/or a co-signer, I don't see why he wouldn't be able to secure financing. It's not like the place is a mansion or anything.
Chris' Spanish was basic at best even if he was very proud that his Spanish name was "Ricardo" which is Richard in English and Chris would be simply Cris in Spanish.
