Bob seems to be operating here on the theory that "paradox" means "puzzle" and so there must be a solution even if he has to add unstated conditions to it. I like that he assumes engineers must recognize not that it's unsolvable but instead attempt to solve it. Chris instead is amused by how it's unsolvable but Bob doesn't grasp this and assumes Chris was sharing it both with him and at work so someone could solve it.
The other things they bring up aren't paradoxes, they're thought experiments about the limits of knowledge. The paradox isn't in the scenario it's in the nature of observation.
I like how the supporting evidence here for Snyder being a Randian is him calling Rand's philosophy naive.
