And Roberto seethes over Sony so much. They are his modern day Sega. Studio which dares doing its own thing when his religious consoomer belief in "The one corporate" demands total control of the Feigie above all over everything.
The franchise is not weird at all. The "strange collaboration" created three successful movies, both critically and with the general audience. Spider-Man and Peter Parker are very much popular. And contrary to what Roberto imagine his straw-men mayo ghouls to react, I have not seen even one reaction mad at the movie. People love it. The weird perception of this movie and franchise does not come from the audience, it comes from Roberto himself. He wants to hate this movie so much. He wants people to hate it so he can dunk on Sony. But he cant. Notice that after the lip service of "its pretty darn good", all he can spout about the movie are negative comments? He hates it. And he knows that because his crowd is MCU shills at this point, he cant say anything really negative about it without having his own followers doubt and argue with him. THAT is the weird position YOU put yourself in, senior Robert.
The fans? they now want more of the Sony takes on Spidey. They want more Tobey. They want more Andrew which Roberto despises. He latches to the one thing that goes against Sony influence in Marvel movies (was mentioned by
@The Valeyard ) and claim this is a big victory that will make people mad so he can claim victory in this movie instead of counting its success as huge L. Its not hard, Roberto critics like a baby. If he would have loved the movie he wouldnt be able to stop talking and referencing how good it is. Just look at his eternal spiel about Eternals.
The only thing Roberto seems to like from Sony is the stupid kiddy cartoon with the copycats. There are multitude reasons for that: the virtue signaling for Miles, his unhealthy fetish for Spider-Gwen, the push for Sony to have success with copycats so Marvel can have "the real Spider-Man". But I would like to think that the real reason he likes it so much, is because, lets face it:
A pig dressed in Spider-Man cosplay is not all that different from morbidly obese movie critic in a Mario cosplay.
I love this so much because Roberto cant win and he keeps losing ground. Sony will never give up Spider-Man, it makes them so much money in movies. It makes even more money in games. Its a huge selling point for their console. Of course theuy will double and triple down on everything Spider-Man and this movie and Venom just proved them they can do it. We will have many entertaining years of Roberto seething mad until his expected heart attack and the final bliss.
