By removing Jon in the first place, it makes it a whole lot more political if they did nothing or had a small statement in the credits saying Jon's opinions are his alone if they even wanted to go that far. Like many, I'm torn. I totally understand WHY the Yooka-Laylee people would not wish to associate with Jon-Tron. As a company, they have the right to do so, and I get why.

On the other hand, this will alienate a good few people, many of whom also loved Banjo-Kazooie and might boycott the game in protest.

Also, if all it takes for you to buy a game is someone you don't like getting dropped from that game, you are a lolcow.

It could have to do with NeoGAF going after them and not the people behind that other game. We don't know what exactly made them drop him.

I doubt neoGAF of all places was the deciding factor. It's probably more of an internal thing at Playtonic than pressure coming from any outside force. If anything Jon himself was probably in on the decision.

Tossing his hat into the ring on Yooka-Laylee was a bad idea, especially knowing Bob's grandstanding. For a while he and others will make it sound as if the removal of Jon was the greatest thing that could have happened, and then we'll start seeing how much damage was done by this decision. Then they'll wonder what happened and never connect the removal of JonTron to the poor performance of Yooka-Laylee. Probably blame gamers/consumers for being racists or something.
