He's a cartoon and vidya obsessed mongoloid who was very likely always fat his entire life. That Mario book he wrote years ago hinted at not getting along with his family. While I'm sure he plays it up, I have little doubt he wasn't a very easy target for jokes among his peers growing up.

Bob wants to simply maintain a "fanboy" persona with out actually being a fanboy. He does it likely just to play into nerd/geek culture.
That, and he can't help but give his opinion on something. He just has to do it. Even if he knows nothing about the subject in question, he still feels a need to give his thoughts on it.

Of course Bob doesn't appreciate the complexities of Venom's character. Venom is obsessed with innocence and defends the innocent vehemently. He even stopped battling Spider-Man in the middle of Central Park to save an infant that had fallen into a pond. He's not just a mindless vengeful killing machine.

The problem is he's extremely dishonest about it. It's clear he doesn't give two shits about the fanboys. To him, they are just numbers, and a audience for them to hear his ridiculous thoughts. One day that audience will throw him under the bus instead of the other way around. Him acting all knowing of all pop culture is a insult to the intelligence of those that are actually fans of their respective brands.

I'm about Bob's age and was a fat kid not losing the weight till college and I was a comic nerd and I can count on my hand now many times I was picked on. Was I popular? No but I had my friends and I also learned personality is key I had a quick wit and a self-deprecating sense of humor no one could take better shots at me than me. Most kids I remember getting picked on weren't just social outcast they also were usually dicks themselves just like the kids picking on them or they were trying to befriend those kids never a smart move when different. I can only think of a few kids I ever saw picked on for no reason but being different and usually that was gay or lesbian kids I'm sure other have been picked on for others reasons when different but I was from a large city like Bob and not much phased us. Bob is a Dick he was probably a Dick then and used his weight and nerd status as to why no one wanted to be around him and were "picking" on him instead of looking at himself.

I find it hilarious that Bob considers himself "creative" when the closest thing he has to creating a piece of art or fiction is The Game Overthinker and that was A) complete horseshit and B) largely a framing device for his own commentary. As many have repeated, all of the ideas Bob posits on Twitter are terrible and I am thankful that no one in Hollywood is actually listening to him because he is a piece of white trash from Boston.
Also, I just had a random thought: if Bob does go to the gym (which I remain skeptical of), what is his workout regiment like? I would assume that he hits the treadmill because it is the only way he could watch Netflix on a tablet. Given that his both his weight and poor circulation from his 'beetus probably keeps him from running too fast. I also have a hard time imagining him lifting weights because the only thing he is capable of lifting is a Big Mac before he stuffs it in his maw.
