Does he realise the country's most active spaceports are in Florida (not a flyover state, but a southern one)? There's also a SpaceX facility in southern Texas. This is for obvious practical reasons in that equatorial launches are most efficient closest to the equator, though polar launches usually go from Vandenberg, California. Presumably he wants these areas to get culturally converted somehow so they can serve the superior future more effectively.

India has a substantial space programme and used an anti-satellite missile test as a show of strength prior to an election so I doubt it. Even if a socialist dictatorship took over, which it well might in that crazy scenario, the USSR and the PRC were and are very fond of space travel for prestige and potential for future colonisation. I doubt an American SSR would be much different and would probably continue the Artemis programme in an effort to establish dominance over its rivals. SpaceX would get nationalised, though, which would be a shame.

What I've noticed though is that American socialists have very different views on those issues from their foreign autocratic counterparts, who are generally fond of large defence and government aerospace projects.
