Bob has a multitude of insufferable behaviors and traits. But he’s rarely as smackable as he is when he’s condescending to give props and career strategy pointers to a seasoned professional he is in no position to advise — favorably or otherwise. Bob genuinely thinks he has insights on being a working, notable actor. Pretty sure Ethan Ralph is more qualified to give his advice on staying sober than Bob is to make assertions about being a movie star.

You'd expect Bobby, a Sinomaniac, to be more up-to-speed with the politics of China:

1. Hong Kong is part of China.
2. The PRC is throwing a hissy fit over what Chloé Zhao said and Nomadland is not allowed to screen in the Mainland.

Bobby is not just a Chinkaboo, he is a wolfaboo too:

Not trying to be dismissive, but in just following this thread I legit believe he has anger issues. That combined with being maladjusted socially and diving into geek shit I think really paints the kinda guy he is today. He mentioned seeing a school specialist or whatever and getting out of therapy, so I think he may actually have anger management issues.
Absolutely, I remember knowing a kid with similar issues when I was in highschool. He was basically a mirror image of Bob, being autistic, overweight, no social skills had no personality outside of video games and movie knowledge. Despite this he had an ego the size of a planet owing to him being a bit better at maths than the other kids. He took absolutely any kind of criticism, slight or even vaguely negative comment as a person insult and was regularly getting suspended for for suckerpunching other kids over stuff like that. He only stopped or tried to as he got older when the councilor convinced him if he kept up like that he'd end up in prison or dead.

I reckon Bob would have been about the same except he probably never had the balls to start a fight so everyone ignored his seething.

Oh he does have anger issues, he even talked about it in the book. However by this point he's convinced himself the spite and malice he feels constantly is yet another of his qualities that makes him superior.

Like I said, just a theory that doesn't really hold up when you consider how much effort one would have to put forth to fake being that mad all the time. Shit, I have a hard time thinking about finding one thing to be mad about every day, to say nothing of the dozens Blobbo spews out.

He definitely has some kind of mental problem, but he'll never get that taken care of. Better to just shovel more fast food and cheap beer down your throat as you consoom the latest Mahvel pablum.
What does he think religion is if not belief? To be religious you have to believe in God, and religion is how we express that belief.
I think I can shed some light. I have an atheist friend (thankfully not the euphoric kind) who enjoys the rituals of religion, especially the ceremony involved with Catholicism. While he doesn't believe in the Christian God (or any god, for that matter), he likes to learn about the practices of faiths; it's the organization and ritual that intrigues him. It's just something he likes to learn about, basically.

The difference between him and Bob (or rather, one of many) is that he's not obnoxious about his unbelief. We've had many a delightful conversation about faith, where I provide a Lutheran perspective on Christian doctrine; his best childhood friend/another friend of mine is Catholic so we run the gamut. We both poke fun at Christianity (let's face it, there's some funny stuff to dig into), but never in a mean-spirited way. He's never once denigrated my faith, and I've never pressed him to convert or anything, beyond leaving an open invitation to come by my church anytime. I respect his reasons and leave his faith, or lack thereof, to himself.

I imagine that Bobby is of a similar fashion. He likes the spectacle of religious services, but he's too enlightened to believe in the magic sky daddy, and he never stops letting you know that. Basically, if there was a church that was a 100% carbon copy of the Catholic faith, except it prayed to Disney, the Democrats, or Science instead of God, Bob would be in the front pew every Sunday.

Or maybe it's simpler than that. Maybe Bob just really likes church potlucks. Shame nobody else gets any food when he's done...

Bob's perception of Christianity is stuck to where it was during the Bush years. In his mind, practitioners of religion will always be the SNL Church Lady, a self-righteous harridan played by Dana Carvey, who invited celebrities to her show just so she could scold them and asset her own superiority. Of course, all of her Conservative "guests" were strawmen versions of their real world selves that she could easily bully. I have to admit, Evangelicals and the Religious Right in general were so far up their own asses from the 50's to the early 2000s, that I could see how mocking them would be fun. The golden time to be a Leftist was during the Sexual Revolution all the way to the Obama years, because you saw one cultural victory after another, and all while knowing that you were on the same side of history as all of the world's Cool Kids. It didn't hurt that this time period also coincided with the wealthiest and most technologically advanced era in American history. Movies were at their most advanced, culminating with the LOTR series, perhaps the greatest trilogy (featuring CG) ever filmed. Bob had to be riding the top of the world in the early 2000s.

Of course, the 2008 Recession changed everything. Radical leftists pushed gay marriage and Critical Race Theory through with the help of Obama, and the Culture War was pretty much won. But the Hollywood Left didn't want to give up their greatest source of fun: ragging on Evangelical Christians. The Hollywood Left didn't want Nazis to fade away, because they were the greatest villains of all time: white, powerful, arrogant, safe to hate, embodying the greatest sin of all: Racism. So the Left (and Bob) had to gin up Nazis, Gay-Hating Christians, and White Supremacists and constantly scream about how threatening they were - like con men puppetting fake ghosts to convince a bunch of brainless peasants to fork over money for a fake exorcism.

Everytime MovieBob spouts off about Godbotherers, it only makes him look more out of touch. I bet he can't even think of a single local religious person who's ever done him or his family, or any of his troon friends any real harm. And for all of his talk about how Leftists are more giving than Conservatives, I'll bet Bob never gave to any charity, unless it's main purpose was to convince 6 year olds to cut off their own dicks.

i think the key that DC (and marvel to a lesser extent) had was the interesting idea of a contained Universe that had been growing and evolving since '38-39. DC had always been strong on the idea of "legacy" and that was the big core theme outside of the Trinity of Superman/Bats/Wondy.

Key point in quite a few shonens? One Piece, Naruto, etc.?
For me, the main distinction has always been manga tend to be written by a single person, so (for better or worse) you've got one consistent vision throughout the entire story.

The shared universe stuff is a really cool concept, but when you have a revolving door of writers constantly retconning or killing off then resurrecting as required to tell whatever stories they personally want to tell it defies the whole purpose, in my opinion. I just can't get invested in a character's fate when I know that the next guy to take over could undo everything that happened in the current arc.

Bob has a fursuit, prove me wrong.

Seriously though, I love these rare occasions where he gets BTFO in the replies. I can never tell if he blocks dissent or if people just ignore him, but the majority of the time I go to observe his tweets in the wild the replies are completely barren.

How much of a loser do you have to be when people can't even be bothered to tell you to fuck off.

The writer of The New Yorker article (archive) spends much words mocking LaPierre's marksmanship, yet disingenuously brings up that the African Elephant is declared Endangered in March 2021 -- the incident happened at least 8 years ago, when the species was still "Vulnerable". This is what we call journalism these days. I myself is of two minds about culling (or legal hunting) African Elephants as part of ecosystem management.

Except medical matters aren't as black-and-white as Bobby imagines. Erring on the side that "long covid" is organic might lead to unnecessary prescription of medicine (say corticosteroids and immunosuppressives) that might have severe or lethal side effects. It will also waste money and encourage malingering.
Spring Youth did a follow up later that day.

Yeah, Hong Kong is only a separate entity on paper now. Too goddamn bad, glad I got to visit it on a whim a few years before it got swallowed up. Would love to trade even one of the independence activists there for Bob so he can experience the Potemkin future wonderland he fucking marvels over.
Bob going full fedora tipper and violent anti-mayo fantasy, yet again.

1) How much charitable work do you actually do, Bob? Who do you actually help? No, donating to a Kickstarter for a game that is actually a front to obtain funds for a tranny's bottom surgery doesn't count.

2) You say you're content to just let them cling, but you also want to unleash the Robot Einsatzgruppen on them. Which is it?
It's easy to talk tough from the comfort of a flooded basement. Besides, Bob, your closed fist closes around your thumb.
He's already delusional about his own worth to society, why would the image of his own physical prowess be any different?

This is one of the strongest pieces of evidence for undiagnosed autism. Autstics like order and routines and expect things to smoothly. They get angry if things don't happen a certain way. We all know what Bobert expected to happen in the world, so when that fantasy didn't happen he flipped out and has kept going ever since. Whatever therapy he had probably didn't account for the potential of autism, so it didn't help.

I am honestly of the opinion that banning the international trade in elephant ivory has made it less likely for the species to survive. If they are of no value to the people who live near them, the people who live near them will solve the problem once and for all by eliminating them.

i think shared universe stuff in comics went out the window in the 2010s because the big 2 just kinda either did n52 (which killed the momentum.) or hired really bad writers that make Bendis look good.

I also think deaths get thrown through a revolving door too easily and that we could easily just use the big-name dead characters in flashbacks. I.E. The X-Men aren't bad conceptually but I wish they'd give a sense of finality and consistency to things. Or at least wait a full 5-10 years before resurrecting a non-AAA character.

I think Blobbo gives no shits about the material he supposedly loves and just clings to it for his image because he's got nothing else. I mean I've met adults with a fair bit of interest in Mario or comics but they don't let it steer their personalities. Hell I enjoy the MCU and all that, but I have an intense dislike for people like Blobbo for trying to be "gatekeepers of culture" without having any sort of love for these things.

Fuckin' consoomers. They ruined everything.

Bobby's salvation is to take over your robotic body.
Thanks for that nightmare. I better go kill all humans just to be sure this never happens.
Ben Shapiro. I sort of agree with Bobby here, but compare his likes and retweets with Ben's, and you'll see who is the one that "NOBODY wants".
Bobby thinks the USA just has "piles of money" lying around. I'd say he got his economics from Ducktales (assuming the US just has a giant vault) but Ducktales could actually teach fairly accurate economic lessons. Maybe he learned economics from GI Joe.
One Party Rule Number One!

What Robert never wants to admit, is that once upon a time, eugenics was very much a progressive position. All the "vey smart people who matter" bought into it as a way for society to advance to the superior future. (Not making any of this up.) And the usual religious, "backwards" conservative folk opposed it.

I'm not even going to ask whether Bob thinks the old progressives were wrong - I really just wonder if they ever pause for a moment to consider, "Wait, might a position I believe in now be seen someday as the evil and wrong one?" Because it happened before, it can happen again.
What kind of loser tattles to his followers to "block and report" accounts?
Bobby claims Hong Kong cinema inspired anime, which is probably true.
85689.png
Or! Here's a thought - close geographic regions led to a lot of cross-culture pollination between people in those regions and now stories growing from said cultures draw upon frames of reference that have a lot of overlap.

Or writers like to put in tributes to things they like.
