Saints Row thread

Apparently the community manager sees old fans as terrorists who don't understand what saints row is actually about, the saints have changed, and she doesn't want us in the community.
Cue the relevant meme:

Incase anyone was wondering Sarah Arellano (lead writer) is still remaining silent about the game. I think the theory that someone who is a higher up at Volition telling people involved to stay quiet is true. Or there is an NDA or something like that in place.
That's because she is now the lead writer of Beyond Good & Evil 2.

(She's since locked her account due to the backlash)
Imagine making a game so bad that it has made both halves of a fanbase, which have disagreed with each other previously mind you, both agree that the one you made is shit. Then imagine being so smoothbrained you then decide to attack the fanbase, even after learning that your paid journo shills can't be arsed to defend you or give you any real pity. Fuck's sake, you had to employ the reddit jannies just to even have a hugbox exist to lie about liking this game.

It really is amazing to watch the company delude themselves even as their sales nosedive thanks to them still being too retarded to fix their own bugs. Seriously, they had six months to polish; did they literally just sit on the game for those six months of delay?

I really just hope Volition closes down and the saints IP dies.

I'd be willing to sacrifice the SR2 patch for it.

I got this game for free with my new GPU and it still stings. I never got to play the original SR, but I must've poured countless hours into 2 just trying to make all kinds of funny looking characters, let alone actually playing it. What's the over/under on them actually putting out that vaunted SR2 patch or just deciding "lmao fuck 'em"?

Based on how they've openly said that the old fans are awful terrorists, I doubt they'll finish the patch.

If they do, based on the state of SR 5, it's gonna be buggier than the original release.

At least I spent 41 minutes watching this, instead of pirating this game and wasting bandwidth and more time playing this piece of shit.
This one's quite informative.

I'm actually amazed they cut the ability to pick up an opponent's guns from this pile of shit. I knew about the can't do basic things like robbery or just heal with a burger or crouching like a baby, but I didn't expect them to remove something that basic bitch. Hell, they also killed off stealing planes for fuck's sake. Also love how the takedowns can easily punish you due to timing.

It really does feel like what happened was they were set and making Agents of Mayhem 2 and only very reluctantly changed the game to SR. And now they're complaining about their actual main source of money. Unlike most shit entertainment, they can't do the investor scams that others can; not a strong enough IP or a robust enough company.

It's impressive that the game is still using the exact same animations (No, really!) and gameplay that's been in place since Saints Row 3 and yet it's still cutting corners, it is the epitome of modern day game dev laziness, while I loved Saints Row, I'm glad I had no expectations whatsoever.

While this was a a good review, the last few minutes of it was retarded doomerfagging. Sure this game might have done well in its first week or so, but this is mainly due to retards who don't pay attention seeing "oh look, a GTA type game is on the market" pre-ordering before actually looking at the reviews. There's a reason sales dropped off by 80 percent. Add in the fact that this game needs to move 2.5 million at copies with not just the Epic Games deal but also at full price, and you can clearly see that the game and Volition are fucked.

I'm assuming its already dead at this point. Damn shame since the graphics are borderline hideous at times, the gameplay is jank, but I'm having some of the best fun with an open world game I've had in years. The only story mission I did past snagging your new hideout in the mission basement was telling Maeru he could take that 20% cut and shove it up his ass. The most Johnny Gat I've seen is him threatening to shove the judge's gavel up her ass, dismissing over 280 counts of first-degree murder as no big deal, and bitching about how there's no gang members to mop up the blood and clean up the bodies he and the Boss leave and I'm more pissed than ever about Volition axing him for 3.

"There's no Statute of Limitations for murder!"

"Why da fuck not?"

After seeing the whole reboot fiasco I went back and played the original Saints Row on my 360. Holy shit what a buggy mess that was, yet I bet it is still way more functional than the soyboot and their "multiplayer mode that will definitely come out guys:.

"If you don't like Soylent Row you're a terrorist!"

Expected nothing less from the fat dangerhair that is in way over her head. When Volition finally shutters its doors because of two shitty games in a row and their unprofessional PR, hopefully all the diversity hires will kill themselves/go back to working at Subway, because it still confuses me why you would choose a series about gang warfare and decide to push the twatter agenda with it.
