I picked up AoM on a PSN flash sale for $8, and the final, fully patched game was fun, if a bit light on content. Reading forums and reddit to get answers to some questions as I played, I found out it was a mess at launch, and stayed messed up for months. Makes the game flopping easier to understand.I've been playing more and more of Agents of Mayhem, and while it took me a bit of time to get used to how its open world works compared to most, I gotta say, Volition did it again.
And now that their first venture into the PS4 hardware is complete, I am even more optimistic about what the next (and announced) Saint's Row can be. I too hope they go back at least to more grounded gameplay. After IV and Gat out of Hell, it almost felt like they had hit the ceiling in terms of gameplay; like it could never go back to normal.
Agents of Mayhem was a nice mixture of grounded and challenging and still a bit over-the-top and fun. Way more polished than IV, for sure.
I just hope Volition is given enough time on their next game to release it in a stable form and with just a bit more to do. What turned out to be the end of the game seemed like it should have been the 33% mark, especially with all the talk about what was going on in other cities and all the villains you hear about, yet never encounter.
