Saints Row thread

one thing i noticed when playing the remaster is how the penthouse mission clicks well but it was too early so to speak.
like blasting your load after 2 thrusts, they teased everyone with their trailer about the penthouse raid and takeover and it literally happens three missions after you started the game.
still, the music was used correctly and it fits the mission, i found a video of a dude that takes his time doing it and pay attention to the music.

This reminds me of the Devil may cry reboot. The game might not even be objectively bad but the fan negativity and the fact it isnt really something that needs to happen or brings anything new to the table is going to hamstring it.
The DMC reboot was worse than 1, 3 and 4, and it carried a very "HELLO FELLOW KIDS" scene kid vibe to it. It definitely deserved its hate, even if people exaggerated its flaws.

Those kids had self esteem problems.

Gameplay was okay to good, but the story and characters were complete and utter shit.

But you can tell that based off that old preparation they gave prior to the game’s release with the whole “Dante is NOT a gay cowboy”.

more cope from reddit, including doing what cyberpunk has done before.

- laura smokey and soy baker will be there as voice 1 and as some goons, get ready to hear girl goons giving sexy pain moans since laura can't moan for shit.
- buyable dojo, for what? the game doesn't have character stats.
- useless info, any fucks to give if the cops still have shooty shooty bang bang but with desert dust?
- "build" as in, buy plots of land then pick whichever build style? NIGGER SIM CITY 5 HAS MORE OPTIONS, fucking hell they should make all places buyable/conquerable then let us do stuff in it.
- fuck that faggot for mentioning two good games and comparing it to this zoomer pile, especially after that "school debt" talk, if i don't hear a nigger or some self deprecating joke just like gat's "i'm yellow enough as it is dex" then it's trash writing that has no place in gaming.
- gay fun fun shit with OTT violence, super reality climax but gayfied, let me streak again for fuck's sake.

I mean, DmC is remembered for being so bad that it killed the reboot and got the original series a sequel (and the 360 No Scope Abortion being the one of the maybe two scenes I remember), so here’s hoping history repeats here?

Yeah I’m not holding my breath on it, but if DmC felt like the blandest example of chasing mid-late 2000’s trends, this feels like that only with mid-late 2010’s trends...

That only happened because Japan is not as cucked as the US.

US developers are so motivated by spite they'd rather just go out of business than admit gamers just don't want Woke.

If this kills Volition to the point they shut down and Deep Silver sells the IP to THQ Nordic who pick up some Eastern European dev to work on the next Saints Row...

Then this timeline will have been worth it.

Jesus H, is volition offering free tranny blowjobs to twitter bots and YouTubers?
Most popular open-world/slightly SR-related channels are all suddenly very positive about the game.
> "Yeah I know the story and characters look bad, but the gameplay will probably be amazeballs!"
So why not just play SR3 remastered then? If you want OTT wackiness and the same gunplay mechanics you'll see in SR2022 because volition are too lazy to actually update their engine to a proper next-gen standard, you've had it in your library for almost a decade at this point. Why are you people so adamant on giving a shitty product your money?

Can't they just ... find jobs in their respective majors? Or will there be an explanation for that plot hole?
Expect it to be a cartoonishly rich White capitalist's fault and a dig at STEM while they're at it for not completely katowing to the globohomo ideal.

>Claims it's going to be more serious and grounded in reality, less funny.
>They then crow about a "prank" mode.

Amazing how retarded people are for not catching this.

Also they already DID cop variants in Saints Row 1 and 2, with the former including the fucking FBI. And the latter has Ultor security and plant guards with different styles of car. Fuck's sake.

Yeah, it's amazing how quickly this shit got turfed after the huge backlash.

I wonder how much it needs to sell to be profitable. I heard Agents of Mayhem only sold like 300k world wide? But just beating Agents of Mayhem probably won't be enough, right? In this day and age?

Honestly the more I look at it the more I think making another Saints Row was another lesson in the futility of human endeavor. Sure I would have loved an 2000's styled crime game, but is there even a place for it in the market? Most people seem to be firmly entrenched in GTA Online for some ungodly reason. I don't see why Zoomers are going to give up Fortnite for this.

this piece of shit has had 200 people working on it for years, probably 4-5 years by the time it releases. It will need several million sales to break even.
If they're throwing money into astroturfing and "brand management" it'll need even more

played the second game years ago on steam but drop it for some reason. should i give it another shot? i remember it being very buggy on steam.
