SCP Foundation - Creepypasta with roid rage - now ITT: SCP fans

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
The top rated of all time still exists, it's just not on the sidebar. Also, the fucking infograph is the second most upvoted scip of all time now.

Even the dated old ones are better than the current shit which is keter tumblr accounts that trigger you to death by misgendering you or making your bottle of Soylent too difficult to open.

Honestly I actually liked the tumblrina satellite. The idea of it was just so wonderfully absurd, they sent it to destroy the earth but it become a tranny homosuck fan. It's being a failson on a cosmic scale.

There was also another nu-SCP I liked, the fandom for a fictional TV series that people would sperg about. The Foundation contained it by bullying them online until they shut up.

Aside from that, though, it's mostly shit. I miss series II.

I like Chaos and GOC, myself. They are plausible PoI for the Foundation.
Sarkic cult is best boi.

To be fair, a constant complaint was that a lot of the high-scoring pages were only there because they were popular “legacy” articles, and not because they were particularly good - and honestly I’d be inclined to agree with that. You can appreciate them for what they are - a product of their time, but objectively speaking their high rating is not indicative of their quality.

Granted, I don’t particularly like nu-SCP either - it started getting boring for me around the time Series 4 started where everyone was trying to out-do each other in how needlessly confusing and meta they could make their article, or just straight up turning it into a video game or action movie. I absolutely despise the Ouroboros Cycle retcon for basically turning the O5 council into a pantheon of shitty video game bosses, and also because it gives the appearance of effort and polish, which makes people immediately judge it for how it presents itself rather than the content of the writing.

On a more positive note, the exploring series guy did another SCP vid highlighting a perfect example of the kinds of articles I actually enjoy reading, where the focus is really more on Foundationverse geopolitics and the anomaly is more of a trigger to get the plot going.
173, the Flesh That Hates, the old man, the portal to that alternate earth...those were all really good. I think the only one that was super overated that was "classic" was the unkillable killer dinosaur thing.

Yeah, 682 doesn't even make sense when it comes to its containment. 106 is one of my favorites.

By the way, familiar face in Wayward society. Is this the beginning of the rot spreading or just a refugee from the Social Justice Warrior Foundation?

The main allure of 682 is the extensive experiment log, including interactions with various other SCPs. Other good SCPs tend to be self-contained and cohesive, often spooky stories, this one is a decent gimmick with oftentimes amusing and quirky implications. I suppose "Able" works in a vaguely similar way, in that I always found the interviews and attempts to weaponize him much more funny than dramatic.

Man, I should keep you guys more up to date on this sorta stuff, shouldn't I?

The Wayward Society is pretty much DOA for the last few months. I wasn't there for it, but apparently the SCP members of the site left after some kerfuffle involving the RPC members on the discord. This along with the mods just disappearing, and Wayward collapsed. There's been rumors of Wayward merging with RPC, but considering none of the Wayward mods are online anymore, I doubt that'll be the case.

It's a shame too, Wayward was a breath of fresh air.

Yeah I guess it was fun as a comedic thing when trying to use SCP-682 introduction as an elimination procedure for other difficult to contain scips, which always ended up as a tragedy of errors.

SCP-3999 has to be one of my favorites. It's not very good really, but it contains this gem:

All personnel who work with SCP-3999 are to be reminded that it is a fictional entity written by a biologically male human, in his late teens, of Jewish and Irish descent, on his spring break, for a community of loser horror writers who have stolen far too much of his time away and fight like children over left wing politics in the chatroom and

That was actually worse than the tumblr one we sporked a while ago; rambling nonsense that isn't scary or interesting, an annoying take on 4th wall shittery if I had to guess since I got sick of reading it about 1/3 of a way through, and it was just plain boring to read.

Like holy shit the guy should just break his fingers, since this ain't his calling.

It's supposed to be something that affects reality itself in an unexplained and mysterious way, but ends up reading as some "look how wacky and random I am" post. I've seen worse, but how it got a +1500 rating is beyond me.

I thought it was ok. At the end it turns out it's the salvaged nonsensical remains of a containment procedure of a cognitohazard that everyone forgot they had and was apparently terminated at some point in the past when it breached containment.

Circlejerking, it's the only way those things get so many votes. A similar phenomenom takes place in RPC too.

I think the real issue with SCP writing is that, at least these days, many people aren't writing for themselves. They're writing to hit a certain upvote goal, or rapidly generate content for a new canon, or to finally write that one GOI format missing from their collection of works. It puts a lot of pressure on people, and I think it's pretty easy to tell when someone is writing to meet a deadline vs. when someone is writing for passion. The SCP Wiki as a whole is a big place, and there's a lot of uneven growth.

Super cool hacker tattletale, watch out nazis! So desperately do these parasitic neoliberals want to embody the role of "countercultural transgressive troll/hacker raging against the machine with spicy memes, nevermind that we've grown so used to our current stranglehold on the mainstream that we've gone complacent and forgotten we even have" that the evil 4channers currently occupy that the only place where they carry out their daring online exploits are in their own imaginations!

Fuck cops, amirite! I think the reason why some feminists love the idea of a mythical creature that lures men to their doom while remaining completely free from accountability is that it frames all straight men as knuckle-dragging neanderthals without conscience or critical thinking. "They deserve whatever's coming to them, because they gave in to their instincts!" as some sort of poignant allegory for men being punished, through vigilante justice, for committing sex crimes.

Jesus, the first one reeks of "I'm not mad, you're mad". I'm willing to bet that they wrote this to get back at the people making fun of their gay forum.

The second one is pretty mediocre, I'm thinking your looking a bit too much into.

Double post but my autism activated on the SPC site so I've been just reading the database again. This fucking one though: http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-3772

It's pretty good imo, but then you get to "Snippet 2: 11/22/2020" wherein the whole plane crashes into a mountain:

tiedyeduck: Is that worth it, though? Her face getting used for awful jokes, becoming synonymous with all the other dead trans girls they fucking meme about. She's not gonna come back.

*sigh*

Is it a rule over there that anything past series 2 must involve troons or something? And Christ sake you dumb nigger, no one cares about one dead tranny. Do you have any idea how many people are murdered daily in the US? All this bullshit about a group of men raping and killing a troon when it's far more likely that his pimp, drug dealer, or the tranny chaser from Tinder he met killed him. BUT NO! IT WAS THOSE ALT-RIGHT HOMOPHOBE NAZIS!

What reality do you live in that a bunch of straight men would want to rape a troon. It's not like raping a lesbian to "make her straight" which would've made sense somewhat but still ruins the story regardless. I'm honestly supposed to believe that a group of straight men who are not in prison all decided today was the day to fuck another man in the ass.

Eh, I give it a soft pass because it's Gamers Against Weed, which is basically a bunch of goons and troons shitting up the internet, but this time with magic.
