Feelgoodism always gets that treatment, and nobody ever loses a single word on how it's achieved. Curios!Yet the marxist liberal side more often then not is chosen as the correct winner.

Can you name any snide jab at men in nineties Star Trek?the snide shots at men
They treat Sisko with kid gloves in the first few seasons because he's the first black Captain.Picard could be and was humiliated, not often but it did happen. It made him more relatable and a better character. Sisko was black so he was more resistant but he was wrong every now and then but I can't recall a single time he was seen being humiliated or crying like Picard.
Not sure if this counts because it's late 80s, but what about "Angel One"??
"Oh no, I have to be objectified by a planet of dommy mommies! Please, captain, don't assign me to this away mission!" Riker says sarcastically. Not sure if this counts because it's late 80s, but what about "Angel One"?

If the episode did have a point (doubtful) it was “matriarchy is the same as patriarchy."
I guess I thought the episode was treating the position the men on Planet Dom/Sub had as a joke. My bad."Oh no, I have to be objectified by a planet of dommy mommies! Please, captain, don't assign me to this away mission!" Riker says sarcastically.
That's why it's called the slippery slope.I was honestly surprised at how far back the seeds of what was to come were planted.
I think JJ Abrams got the ball rolling, with both SW and ST. Not really familiar with DW, but I know it has gone south.So... Who do you think did most damage between these 3?
I mean, the “reverse sexism” is treated like a joke. The whole thing is like a punishment for paying attention to an episode of Star Trek.I guess I thought the episode was treating the position the men on Planet Dom/Sub had as a joke. My bad.
and even if the races in the quadrant don't have a unique currency, we saw on ENT for example that they would pay in plasma. The Ferengi have money and they've definitely elevated from "Damn capitalists!" to "cool nice guys" during DS9.
Not so much in plasma, but something tangible and of use for almost anyone for an at the moment ad hoc barter transaction.and even if the races in the quadrant don't have a unique currency, we saw on ENT for example that they would pay in plasma.
There is a small detail they mention of how women there are bigger than men, so it's a matter of evolution and biology that women rule in the same way men are dominant for being male, not because they all agreed to oppress women.View attachment 8169799
And? What about it? Maybe I’m just being dense.
Beata (and I had to look her name up, she has the charisma of a dial tone) is like Space Dworkin and you’ve got Troi openly cracking up at Riker showing up dressed like Rod Stewart. If the episode did have a point (doubtful) it was “matriarchy is the same as patriarchy."
It's honestly a show that doesn't need Klingons if they're going to go with the Xindi as the big bad. Klingons are recognizable and all, but the Andorians and the Tellarites fulfill the role of belligerent frenemies and they've got less lore to keep track of. The show could have ripped off Babylon 5 harder by just keeping to the TOS-era races constantly competing with each other and Archer is the key to keeping the peace. The goal of that show was to explain how the Federation formed, but it takes a while to get to that point.I don't get all the Enterprise hate.
After re-watching it I actually enjoyed it. I can see where it could have been done much much much better but overall I liked it more then Voyager. Jeffery Combs is as awesome as always. Shran is a very good character and I liked him more then Archer. T'Pol was decent and I enjoy the love arc. As a man who married a ginger I have much empathy for those who get involved with alien creatures so I feel for Trip and sympathize with his desire to integrate into a community that really just hates him for being there.
The Tellerites were interesting when they showed up, I like the early Klingons, the Romulans were meh but not bad. The Time War was trite but it was shoehorned in on the studio's demands so I won't hold that against the show.
Over all I would say I enjoyed like 80% of the episodes, so it's just below TNG for me in ranking and far above any Voyager ones.
Then again I enjoyed that bowel impaction more then most Voyager episodes.
What about Year of Hell? Basics, when her ship gets stolen by the fucking Kazon of all people? What about Scorpion when she loses against Species 8472 till she makes a deal with Borg? Equinox, where she almost loses her moral standing and ethics? The not so subtle jabs at capitalism, the edgy gender shit, the snide shots at men and the unstoppable girl boss that was Janeway. Seriously she never loses, is never wrong.
It was still incredibly moronic for her to not think of changing the passwords to the ship after Seska's defection.Basics, when her ship gets stolen by the fucking Kazon of all people?
