Steven Crowder / LouderWithCrowder / @scrowder / The "Change my Mind" meme guy - Talk show host who burns all bridges, even with his own wife

Which begs the question. What is the best approach for "Trad" media personalities to take when they get divorced?

It is going to get out. They can't keep on singing the same tune without at least acknowledging their personal failure.

Maybe make a very short announcement on a 2ndary outlet, or maybe just a blog post that isn't highly visible on their website that can be linked to for people who have questions.

Something along the lines of "Yes, I am getting divorced. No, I cannot talk about it as the court case goes through. Please respect the privacy of my wife and children as we go through this difficult process. I don't think my family should be a subjected to a media circus."

Yeah, I think if Crowder had just said, "I'm getting divorced and it sucks. Sometimes relationships don't work out, but respect privacy, etc." it would have blown over in a second.

He seemed determined to paint SOMEONE the villain though, so it had to be his wife, no fault divorce, and Candace Owens. That's obviously going to escalate things a lot.

The best bet would be to marry a woman who you can tolerate long-term and whose shortcomings don't constitute a world-ending calamity. Or you can just not act like a prick to your wife and the mother of your kids. Just don't get divorced, especially with kids, especially if your personal brand is being a conservative.

An actual conservative cannot separate theory from practice, "what you say" from "what you do," public image from private image. So divorce looks really bad on you because it makes it seem like you don't have it figured out, you can't resolve internal conflicts and that your values are not aligned with traditional standards i.e. Christian ethical teaching. Crowder probably understood all that, but was unable to muster up a fully engaged frontal lobe to determine the best course of action. There really isn't a "win" you can secure from this kind of situation, it is unequivocally a loss; however you can mitigate damage by drafting a syntax-tortured "press release" and keeping it tidy, separate from your content.

Yet I suspect that there's little overlap between always-online e-celebs who milk conservative distress, and those fit for lasting, healthy marriages.

He already lost his chance to punch back ala Daily Wire stuff by being silent for so long on the backyard video. Now people accept that as him. If he responded a day or two later saying how Hillary is full of shit and it's an edited video and he had an instance of her being a bitch it would have at least showed the marriage was at a point of people no longer in love.

His views are probably also down because he's not doing good shows recently. He and Gerald are pretty clear rooting for Desantis without outright shitting on Trump, and no one cares about Meatball. It seems he got caught up in the twitter lie that Desantis was going to be this serious contender and are now trying to walk back on the fly, and he's also doing UFC interviews (and the dude lost this weekend too), no one cares about this shit. Political show calling people fake and gay is what they want.

When he was throwing punches at DW he said a lot about starting his own platform and then...joined an existing platform. Rumble's model is fine and he probably could have something decently profitable but for his self sabotage.

When he was on the Blaze the mug club membership got you access to all of the Blaze. I don't know how popular their other shows are, but it was something. Now he's charging the same amount as a Blaze membership ($89/year?) for just his show and a few clips from a couple other youtubers.

The free month preview probably hurts in this case, it just shows me there's no member content I'd pay for. Whatever subs he has are going to have a massive drop off at renewal, hope he's budgeting for that.

As a Christian he can do a redemptive narrative arc after he hits rock bottom. Maybe he sorts himself out and makes peace with DW etc...or not. Soros keeps racking up wins with his goal of conservatives infighting to self destruction.

Here's the article that Ortiz did.

Some interesting notes:
  • Crowder has previously said he was trying to unseal all records, but as soon as he saw media at courtroom, he tried to get the courtroom sealed and media barred. The judge seems pissed and tells him that even Trump can't get media barred from his trial, so it's a no go.
  • Crowder's lawyer lied and said Current Revolt reporter was recording on his phone, gets the reporters phone taken away.
  • Crowder is trying to get sole custody of the kids. This seems obviously vindictive to me, since he always talks about how he works 80 hour weeks, so he clearly wouldn't be spending time with them.
  • Right now Hilary is a stay-at-home mom, but Crowder's team grills her about why she hasn't gotten a job.
  • Crowder says he needs custody because of Hilary's "erratic" behavior. The examples he gives are that she didn't tell him there was a tweet online that doxxed him. As Current Revolt remarks, this doesn't make sense. Steven's team has a huge presence on Twitter while Hilary doesn't even have an account.
  • Crowder says he couldn't be present for birth of his kids because of COVID regs. On the ROTC show, they observe that no matter what COVID regs were, someone could have just left room to let Steven be there. Furthermore, do we really believe Steven, after going off about how bad COVID regs were for months on his show, would be barred from his children's birth because of COVID and never utter a peep about it?
  • Crowder claims he's never posted pictures of his children on social media. This is a lie; he's done it tons of times.
  • Crowder claims his surgery wasn't elective because insurance covered it. This is a lie again: most surgeries in the U.S. are elective and most of these are covered by insurance, so the fact that insurance covered it in no way means it wasn't elective.
  • Crowder is asked whether he said he "picked wrong" in marrying his wife and he denies it, but then admits it when he is read his statement from his own video saying that. Lol.

Now that's just fucking stupid. Why would you deny something that's just out there in video to be replayed in the courtroom? I guess no one ever accused Crowder of being clever. Maybe he should have made himself sign an NDA.

What's interesting after listening to this reporter is that it directly carries over to how his show has gotten worse. For as much as he rightfully shat on the Daily Wire he's starting to use their low hanging fruit topics for an hour long show that isn't interesting, and you can tell he's trying to quietly push Desantis but no one care about Meatball. Of all the things in the world to talk about last week we need another "California sucks!" episode, just because Meatball is slapfighting that faggot Newsom?

Dave and 1/4 Black's show is out now and it's basically a low key version of Crowder without Crowder. I don't know what's behind their paywall but I hope Dave gets to go completely unfiltered. The best Crowder episodes were when Dave was on and they had just been suspended from youtube and said fuck it the next day and didn't censor themselves. Maybe that's an option for Crowder when his numbers bottom out--just go full R rated.

The New York Post did a write-up of Crowder's court proceedings with commentary from his past employees who say he's a hypocrite for demanding full custody.

Highlights:
-Writer points out Crowder's hypocrisy for asking for full custody, citing multiple tweets from him where he talks about how he's clueless, has trouble changing kids diapers, etc., while bragging that his wife is so competent at caring for the kids
-He also tweeted about how much kids need both parents in the home, which is a pretty weird view to take while taking kids from their mom
-Notes that after Ring video leaked, Crowder started declining in subs on YouTube for the first time in his career, followers dropping on other platforms like IG

I like how all of these political talk show hosts consider themselves legitimate comedians when their standup is verbal excrement. I'm really looking forward to the complete OP because this guy has been popping up in my feed for years. That Ring cam footage that the media is trying to kill him over is very tame compared to how they're presenting it.
It's kinda ironic that the commentators who try to be comedians end up being so bad at it, while the ones who started as comedians that end up going the philosophical/political route end up being brilliant. George Carlin, Dave Chappelle, and somewhat Bill Maher, etc. I think its a sort of intellectual envy, as really good comedians have always been viewed as on the cutting edge of social commentary and trends, whereas anyone who can look somewhat presentable and read from a teleprompter or script can be a political commentator. I really wonder what Bill Hicks would have became if he hadn't transformed himself into a parody of what he criticized and changed his name to Alex Jones died of cancer way too young...
Same. I only ever listened to Crowder on occasion, but never did I find his comedy to be anything more than a bit amusing. I think Matt Walsh and even Ben Shapiro have been more capable of being genuinely funny, like in Walsh's documentary.
The sad (or funny, depending on how you look at it) thing about his documentary is that Matt Walsh played it completely straight, and just let the insanity of the troons and their allies/handmaidens provide all of the comedy milk, and they all walked right into it. Ironically the only ones who seemed to have a clue and not buy into the troon agenda were the "simple" African tribesmen.

To me, Shapiro isn't funny, even when he tries to be. Maybe you'll get the occasional laugh when he unintentionally does or says something funny. He's kinda like the weird sheltered homeschooled kid, or younger tag along brother who would follow along with the other kids to try to seem "cool" when he's not, but his awkwardness would occasionally result in small bursts of hilarity.

One guy dropped this comment on Mark Dice's video about Crowder and no need to guess then lots of folks will dislike that comment.
Christ, the comments on that video. Lot of people seem to think a fat man sitting on his arse doing absolutely nothing is acceptable in a marriage. If your wife is pregnant, shouldn't you be doing the things like walking/medicating the dogs, making enough money to own a second car, etc.? Aren't those manly provider things?

If he can’t change a courtroom‘s mind on how to treat his wife even with video evidence for the public to see, what makes one think Crowder will change on anything that requires to have some dignity on how he’s supposed to act as a father and husband?

Crowder is already discounting subscriptions. $69/year. Guess not many people converted after the free trial. That DW money must be looking pretty good right about now.

Meanwhile all the skits in Dave's new show are Crowder alumni seeming to really enjoy themselves.

I haven't seen Dave's show. Do they keep their retarded nicknames from Crowder?
