Anyone got predictions for TES6? I got one.
Bethesda is going to go all in on procedural generation. I'm talking quests, locations, dialogue, items, there's going to be a lot of procedural slop. Daggerfall had the map, Oblivion had radiant AI, Skyrim had radiant quests, Fallout had legendary system, Starfield was almost entirely procedural. They've been trying to get to this point for years and I think we're at the point where they can do it. Procedural dialogue a la ChatGPT procedurally voiced by Elevenlabs. There's been too many developments in this tech which is right up Todd's alley for him not to do it. He said for years the reason they didn't make TES6 was the technology wasn't there. Maybe he was waiting on this?
Picture this, TES6 set in Hammerfell with ship building mechanics. You get a radiant quest from Trayon Redsword to explore his families ancestral ruins in sunken Yokuda. You sail to the procedurally generated location, find the epic eponymous Redsword, actually just an iron sword with 5 points of damage fatigue, and return it to him. He lore dumps whatever stupid story the AI gives him, gives you 50 gold and walks away never to be seen again. Repeat.
I can't see Todd having these options and not going for it. Yokuda gives him a good opportunity, just retcon it as being damaged by a dragonbreak or numidium or whatever dumb shit so that its temporally unstable, boom you have an excuse to randomly generate an infinite number of islands over there.
