The Elder Scrolls

>HURR IF I SAY THEY DONT COUNT THEY DONT COUNT

Point me to the Oblivion choice where you can side between two massive political factions with diametrically opposed beliefs that changes the people in power both locally and on a grand scale? You can't fucking do it. And there are unique perspectives and quests to play on each side, saying it is copy/pasted is disingenuous.
Choosing between mania or dimension is more impactful and alters the content of Oblivion more than the whole civil war does for Skyrim. The game tries to tell you the civil war is super important, but it sure as hell doesn't feel like it when all the Jarls who lost their hold are just chilling in the blue palace's loser basement acting like practically nothing happened. A lot of quests, maybe even most quests in Oblivion have multiple ways of going about it, and once again they often have an actual fail state. It's hilarious how you can be the worst thief in the world, yet the thieves guild keeps giving you work in Skyrim for example. It never feels like anything you do in vanilla Skyrim matters.
can you point to a single side quest in Oblivion with more than one linear outcome/method to solve it?
Yes I can.
Listen, I am fine with people not liking the fucking game but at the very least you should know what you're talking about rather than being retarded.
I don't even hate Skyrim vanilla gets a C- from me though, but you're wrong. It's clear that at least Oblivion isn't fresh in your memory if you believe "Oblivion has way less choice and consequence than Skyrim does and it isn't even close."

A lot of quests, maybe even most quests in Oblivion have multiple ways of going about it
Name them. Aside from those three you picked I am playing the remaster right now and very few quests from my memory or as I've done them now have alternative outcomes.

Not that world-ending events are bad, I just wish they were slowly introduced.
Looking back at the idea of time based games, it doesn't always have to be bad things if you don't do something.
things happing with/without the player is 100% what I want in a elder scrolls game, like you mentioned, maybe slowly introduce these things
as you invest more and more time into a questline. starting from

"welcome to the assassins guild player, we have some contracts that don't really matter, do them when you can, love you!"
to
"you know how important this is. you better fucking do this when we tell you to, faggot"

to add more to this idea of shit having to happen, maybe not doing something could be better in the long run?
That's why I brought up that specific quest for pathologic 2 earlier, the only way to get a "good" outcome, is let that quest "fail".
why I remember that quest so well after all these years because if you were to fuck around that specific area for a while before that quest, you'd hear people talk about how the water is fucked, and if you check it yourself, the water is bad. the key thing that fucked me up was you don't have any chance of communicating this
and are forced to make a call without talking to anyone.

you have to let the quest fail, the game is forcing you to double down and question if you missed something (when you clearly don't have the time to check)
that added so much panic to my playthrough and added to my already cursed fucked run. AND I WAS ALREADY CORRECT NOT TRUST THE WATER.

having the option of (here is the correct answer player) and immediately rewarded me would had relieved my tension.
but it didn't, the game just straight up goes (Go to bed. lets see what happens when you don't do this)
and here's the fucked up thing about all this,
I never knew I made the right call here, I didn't even get rewarded for not infecting the town more,
all I got was a "some things aren't meant to be" and still was questioning myself until my 2nd playthrough.

TLDR: I don't want time based shit to only fuck me with bad endings, I want them to fuck with me, GET INSIDE MY HEAD.

Honestly, it's more impressive to me that more people are playing the old GOTY edition than ever, since it shows there is indeed people disappointed with the demake and either went back to the original or bought it outright after returning the slopmaster.
I can't even claim it was Remaster disappointment:

I started downloading a repack of the Remaster as soon as I found out it dropped. Would've taken most of the day to download.

In contrast, it literally took 10 minutes for me to buy a legal copy of the OG GOTY, mod it with the 5-10 mods I use, and play.

The original beats it out just on convenience, so my disappointment with the Remaster has come after the fact, second-hand. I have no reason to look into the Remaster at this point, but I may still try out Skyblivion when that comes out, just for shiggles

let's see: Some quests give you little choices, like whether you snitch to the rat lady in the first fighter's guild quest or whether you lie for Maglir. And some quests change the outcome of other quests down the line, like telling the Grey prince about his heritage or giving the wrong crown to Umbacano.

Is it even possible to mod a sufficient amount of quests with a gazillion endings, actual choices, fail states and faction relationship fuckery in the more lacking games without breaking the limits of the buggy ass Creation Engine? I remember being unable to complete Honest Hearts in NV because either the map would crash my fucking game or I'd start a quest but I wouldn't know whose fault it was.
And that's not considering actually using the construction kit to pull a stunt like this :cryblood:

I'd be less opposed to this "remaster" if they weren't selling it for full retail and charging you for Horse Armour all over again. No amount of Todd Howard memes will make that acceptable. That they've changed so little only reinforces my point. You're paying for a graphical uplift of a 19 year old game and it's DLC. And it's not even as good as Daggerfall.
You got to be shitting me, there is no way they're actually charging you for Horse Armor a second time. If this is true, I am NEVER going to stop mocking Bethesdies for this.
OH NO IT IS
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Oh man, I needed that laugh. Oh well, maybe the player numbers are looking up after yet another day!
oblivion remastered playercount.webp
Last I checked the other day, we had a peak of 203K. Now, less than 190K are playing and we have an all-time peak of 216K. I don't feel so good, Bethesda bros!
oblivion playercount after remaster.webp

Last I checked, over 3000 people played the original. Now, the 24 hour peak nearly doubled at the same time as the slopmaster is losing steam. UH-UH! Where is the retard who was gloating that the playercount for the original didn't matter?
kingdom come 2 playercount when oblivion remastered launched.webp

The remaster of a "legendary" game that supposedly was groundbreaking 20 years ago and has SO MANY fans can't even beat a shitty game which is most accurately described as a "woke humiliation ritual". Bethesdies are so demoralized they can't even beat this piece of shit. Fucking Daniel Vavra can summon a bigger crowd of paypigs than Todd Coward can. SAD! HE LOST HIS TOUCH!

lol, lmao even. I missed making fun of Bethesda fans so much, they ran with tails between their legs after the disaster that was Starfield and it was so hard to find a good mark for quite a while, but I think that drought is now over. My body is ready!

Never played Arena/Daggerfall so no comment there, I'll give it a shot some day.
You can easily pass Arena, I think it's a borderline tech demo. Daggerfall, on the other hand, is easily accessible thanks to the Unity port and is easily the best RPG the studio ever released. It takes some getting used to if you play a lot of new games, but it's worth it.

I still am stuck wondering if TES6 will be based on an all new engine setup, or if TES4R was them basically beta-testing / paying to set up the new UE5/Creation hybrid, or if we're just stuck with Starfield.

Also wondering if TES4 actually having some, er, TES in it as compared to Starfield will mean TES6 will be better than Starfield in that regards.

Can Bethesda be turned around?

how can anyone read this post and see anything but a sad retard coping that the release was successful, trying to paint 216k concurrent on a shadowdropped remaster of a 19 year old game as a massive flop is just embarrassing
you are also unable to read your own screenshots and can’t see that the all time peak of 216k was 3 hours ago.
Todd won, you lost.

All he arguing about whether i was a success or liked in he first week is retarded. This is 95% mormie next-new-thing hype sales. What counts is what it looks like in a few weeks.

I want to be able to kill quest-critical NPCs. I want to be able to kill Martin Septim if I want to and plunge the world into darkness.

Adv AI not too far down the road should make that possible within the cheapness of the modern gaming-as-a-business dev/pub. Eventually something like the seed from SAO could replace classic engines as we know them, and the redundant system of having to basically partially reinvent the wheel with every game.

I honestly cant wait until insane asylums and water tight legal jargon of what men and women are biologically and legally defined as obvious so all these ugly retarded tranny faggots can fuck off a tall building. Nexus mods needs a serious purge of the moderation team if it ever changes owners. Should Jewshua Moon make a kiwifarms version of nexus mods? That would be hella based and another source of income im sure.

Indeed. But it would have to go beyond just the mods, the admin/owner made clear with the spiderman shit that he and his site is taking sides. Full progressive SJW
If only.. It would be cool but the amount of butthurt from social media/reddit/BS and the industry would be beyond comprehension. He'd have to be prepared for every major pub/dev to demand the delisting of mods for their games and god knows what else. I don't think Josh would be the one to test the dubious CR claims over mods in court against multi billion dollar mega corps.. Even if he wanted to get into he mod business in the first place.

I like that vanilla remaster fixes leveling. I always hated having to make autistic plans about my skill gains in the original.

Also I like that it has such obnoxiously high system requirements that it gatekeeps the thirdies from playing it.

jeetfield creation engine because of no licensing % paid,
UE5+GB seems to be more of a remaster streamlining shit, again, fingers crossed for remastered daggerfall.
