The General Thread

I found a series of short stories at a comic book store today. The thing about them? They were written by my English 1302 professor. I read the first few pages in the car and was interested, but that's probably because I know the author (so if you have a wall of text posted here and you're a good friend of mine, chances are I read the entire thing, and if I don't know you too well, I just ignore it). That aside, not much else happened. Gonna have another DnD game tomorrow, and it's supposed to cool down tomorrow as well.

Been at work for fourteen hours now, ten more to go.
Reading this forum has kept me sane for the last five or so hours. Thank-you, everybody.

Not to create a shitstorm, but what do you guys think about people who seem to trot out their kids autism whenever possible? I see it a lot in reviews for things on amazon. Like tonight I was seeing how much a button maker was. I saw this review for a button maker:

This is a neat little product. Could be hard to open and close at times, but not a big deal. I haven't any problems with it falling apart. I use it for my autistic son and for school when it's a day that allows children to forgo their school uniform and participate in fun activities, such as spirit week. My son only wants to wear his uniform, but I use the button and print out something that goes with the daily theme and he will wear it on his shirt. I've also used it and printed out "Birthday Boy" on all of my boy's birthday for school and for their parties. I've used these myself for Autism Awareness, Breast Cancer Walks and other events. I've got a family of six, so this particular product worked out for me very well.

Like, why can't you just saw your son loves having his own buttons, instead of trotting out his autism? you know?
Because people want the sympathy points and that they're so great for persevering through such a horrible thing oh my God.

We live in a world where bronies exist and are quite open about their hobbies. Anything is possible.

It's fascinating how amazing your life can be from just removing one cancerous stump of a person from it.

On Friday, I tried to present my History project to the class by hooking up my computer to the projector and playing my video straight from Source Filmmaker, due to the video fucking up every time it was rendered, but when I tried to open the file, it was corrupted. So now I have to remake the video. I did a little bit over the past two days, but I just don't have a lot of motivation to work on it.
*SIGH*

Today's shaping up to be a pretty good day compared to the last few days. The weather is absolutely beautiful, so this strange, responsible, self sufficient, charming man is showing in me rather than the cynical sarcastic asshole I am on unbearably hot days. Feeling really energetic as well. May have accidentally over eaten/drank at lunch. Sucks because now I feel a little sluggish. Denver and Dallas are playing today, so I'm gonna spend a fair amount of time on that. Later, I have to prepare some pro-federalism talking points, and tomorrow I get to write my group's paper on pico de gallo on my own because I'm the only one who speaks fluent English in the group.

I regret making a Facepunch.com account. The members there are assholes.

Setting up a character sheet for a DnD game I'm gonna play with some local friends and my brother. Gonna be a corgi rogue (wanted to try paladin, but it seemed like a bad choice for a small character) named Jerry Korgfield. Gonna play with a monkey, an owl guy, and two humans. Image I used to describe my character:

Not that I lack originality, just that I really didn't want to deal with being a sorcerer.

Where did you find stats for a Corgi race?
It's a pathfinder game, so yeah. My friend enjoys making races and stats and stuff, so he made his own race called the Cworgi. They get a dexterity and charisma bonus but take 2 from strength. They also get special abilities or something, so they get a + in bluff (because who doesn't find a drunk corgi with a dagger completely adorable and trustworthy?) and they can bite stuff. If you wanna see some shit, take a look at the monkey wizard guy. Two feet tall, thirteen years old, walks around with a barrel and attacks with a sling. Oh, and he's a fucking monkey wizard. Not sure about the actual stats, but there's also something for the owl guy.

Actually wasn't expecting more than one animal person, but yeah, apparently animals are pretty cool. My friend also likes doing stuff where players can just customize the shit out of literally everything, just as long as it doesn't break the game (I think my brother wanted to be a monk wrestler or something...).

My sister's becoming an environmentally concerned Republican hating serial killer obsessed weeaboo bookworm. Congratulations, Niachu, my sister is becoming you.

By the actor that was in the movie Things (See movies worse than The Room thread)
