If you want to propose an alternative that is not contingent on desperately and continuously tracking your reddit karma, go for it.

The main point of the stickers (for me) is to tell users that I like and respect that something they wrote made me happy. And vice versa. Why is that such a bad thing? I simply don't understand it, and for me at least its an important part of the forum culture here.
