The Legend of Heroes Series - Possibly The Most Underrated JRPG Series

Daybreak 2 was middle of the road. Good visuals and music. Combat was difficult enough to be engaging. Plot was more entertaining than the first game. I liked the bad ends. Calvard and the main cast are still boring. Wish Feri and Quatre etc had been cut and the story was focused on the much more interesting side characters like Alvis, Daswani, Zin, etc. Hopefully Rean and the mech pilot trio will salvage the next game. Apparently the fan translation for Kai is almost finished so maybe I will just go ahead and play that.

Completed chapter 2 in Trails FC. Gotta i havent been more engaged and invested in a game like i am with Trails. I like Agate and the ending scene of chapter 2 really makes me curious of his back story. Overall its been fun and since i have a better grasp of the combat i can manage as long as im prepped. I just love how interconnected the world is and how side quests arent just side quest. Also the Play at the festival was surpringly fun to watch. Seeing the characters gender bend their roles was something different but welcomed. Already got the trilogy on pc for trails but at this point i can see myself buying the other games if they get me engaged like FC has.

Question since i dont dare to go to google cause i dont wanna risk spoilers but:
Does the different arcs happen simultaneously or they sequel from eachother?

Just wanna have an idea of the chronology of the games.

They're sequels for the most part. Zero/Azure has some overlap with Cold Steel, but the former only spans a year while the latter is 4 years.

Sky trilogy happens one after another. Then Zero, then Cold Steel and Cold Steel 2 happens during the entire duration of (and after) Azure, and then after that, it's sequential order, Cold Steel 3, 4, Reverie, Daybreak 1, 2, Kai.

They are working pretty fast.

Act 3 had a pretty dogshit villain. Literally no buildup to make it interesting.

It could have worked, but they did not put in the work.

Finale was pretty excellent though and the combat in general was good. Bit too much filler though.

Rean and Kevin have similar screentime, I believe they each have three chapters, whereas Van's route has the most, twice as long as either one.

So i got to Zeiss in FC and i fucked up. I got so invested in the story that i neglected some side quest from the guild. Usually i would just reload a save, but considering thats my L and i have to live with the consequences. Also why the fuck is a little girl wielding a fucking granade launcher?

So i have arrived at Grancel and im gonna help Zin in the tournament. Curious to see what this Gospel thing truly is since at first glance it looks like an Emp. Honestly excited to see where this story goes. Also fuck the Shadow weaving attack.

The only Y's game ive played was Memory if Celecetta for the vita. Was fun for what it was. What i picked up is that the serie you follow up the adventures of Adol which is like the best adventurer in existence or something. Basically Japanese Indiana Jones.

I played Ys 8, thought it was decent. Weird that Lexia is voiced by Natsumi Takamori. One of those voice actresses that breaks your brain when they show up outside of their niche. Like learning the other roles the voice of Navi from Ocarina of Time has done before.

Learn this information at your own peril.

I played 7 which was meh, 8 which was great and 9 which was bleh.

Still slogging my way through Daybreak 2, it is not great so far.

Nemeth Island was so retarded, and such a huge waste of time; it was just an excuse for Renne's memberberry moment, the group to have yet another battle royale for an extremely contrived reason, and to explore the admittedly interesting, backstory of Quatre, which doesn't get brought up in Kai.
