If they are smart they will worry less about breaking the win/loss record and more about conserving their energy for the playoffs. They got pushed pretty hard last year. It's interesting how OKC has been 2-3 since going 24-1, with two of those losses to San Antonio.
The one hole in their game seems to be really big centers. It seemed they matched up poorly against Denver last year in the playoffs because Jokic is like a hundred pounds heavier than Chet. Their best lineups play Chet at center, they can't reasonably play him at center against Jokic or Wemby for extended stretches of time. SA then can prey on the double bigs lineup being worse offensively, while being able to put pressure on whatever OKC defender they want with their movement and anomalous center. It's interesting how OKC has been 2-3 since going 24-1, with two of those losses to San Antonio.

This is a Youtuber that makes critiques of NBA coaching by rolling game tape and screaming his head off at all the mistakes and poor strategy he sees, and gives his videos outrageous titles like 'JASON KIDD BELONGS IN NORTH KOREAN PRISON FOR THIS COACHING JOB VS THE LAKERS'. I always assumed it was at least part satire.
Out of nowhere he goes live with a face reveal last night - which I don't think he ever does - and goes on a 90 minute rant about how generally clueless the NBA is and how nobody associated with it deserves their job, all NBA-related shows and podcasts are garbage, and he (or "we"; his viewership?) could win the title with the worst team in the league, interspersed with random stuff like giving out his real name, history, experiences, high school crushes he still thinks about, at around 39 minutes randomly brings up how he's lost interest in women and prefers porn, etc. Funny as hell, I can now add "pigeon-brained idiot" and "goblin terrorist" to my insult bank, but also really strange and manic.
More satire, or actual psychotic break? You tell me. I've only watched half of it so far, I gotta go do shit.
Players want to win and they'll just play to whatever the refs are giving them.Do you watch the sport? The Nuggets, a team that is allegedly good, just gave up 147 points to the HEAT last night. The refs no longer call any offensive fouls, and because they don't? Nobody on the floor knows how to play ball anymore. its just dudes standing around the basket while the offensive players can charge right in to defenders blatantly and get their and 1. It's worse than Dwyane Wade drop kicking Mavericks in the NBA finals. Traveling is at its worst, carrying is at its worst, fucking 6 step gathers, offensive players are turning in to the defender and getting fouls even though that is and always has been an offensive foul. It's shit right now.
Using the Nuggets giving up a lot of points to the Heat when they now have no starters except for Jamal Murray is a bit odd. Their defense with their starters in is actually pretty decent this year, of course when all their best players are hurt they play worse.
What happened to Baby Jokic #5476Blazers GM needs to be fired for that Hansen Yang pick. The guy doesn't even play, and when he does, he does nothing.

Younger viewers engage with the NBA primarily through watching highlights on social media. Silver even acknowledged this. More scores and more possessions mean more chances of highlights you can post.David Stern's rectal polyp thinks teams scoring 150 points outside of high school is something fans want to watch. I don't, but maybe people really enjoy Luka looking like a bullfighter as someone runs by him to the rim. Ole!

Then eventually maybe you can hook them on sports gambling and at that point they're a captive audience and the on-court product doesn't matter.
