Yeah, I understand that was the way it came about. Here's an interesting article on the subject which also highlights the fact that this shit is becoming a problem at universities. TL;DR version: by putting trigger warnings on course materials, which a number of students demand, you effectively dictate to people what they should be offended by and so affect their analysis.As I noted before, it probably is a carry-over from blogs or forums specifically for survivors or sexual assault. As these people migrated to Tumblr, which has a much broader scope of people it attracts, these people started up blogs doing the same thing and probably asked people who they followed to tag things. From there on out, it spread like a virus.
