Those dont look like cheap toy-ones either but a bundle of pretty nice collectables. I'm guessing this due to the black clamshell quality of the box, but those don't look like the cheap ones you find at Wal-Mart.
Nah, these are available at pretty much any retailer. They ain't cheap but they also ain't good with the quality control. There are exceptions though. Some are box sets that are really hard to get and specifically marketed towards collectors like one box set exclusive to the official retailer overseas that was an amalgamation of various characters from various generations of the franchise, it sold out very quickly in the few places that carried it in the US and now it's scalper city for it on Ebay. There's also a beast wars one that was an exclusive to an event/subscription service that Scalpers charge 500 fucking dollars for each figure, and people buy them for some reason despite the fact the set itself costs under 200 dollars.
I don't know what's worse, Chris spending more money on transformers, or the fact he's buying shitty, overpriced combiners that he could get from Walmart and Toys R Us instead of going for high grade stuff like Masterpieces or 3rd party robots.
Oh wait, I forgot, he's banned from a ton of big box stores due to tard rage.
Should of spent that 100$ on a replacement G1 Megatron or Optimus, Chris.
The "high grade third party stuff" is kind of an overstatement. the Hasbro combiners will run you under $100 if you spend wisely, the third party versions will almost always run you at least $500 for a figure generally the same size.
Also, G1 megatron runs about $40 generally unless it's a reissue or new in box.
