Is that one pedophile still in
Stringstorm? Memory holed them until recently as one of their songs was still in my playlist. I don't like how they tried to sweep this under the rug and how they even got away with it because "oh there's multiple people in Stringstorm" despite the pedophile still being in the group when they made their "update" videos. Wondering if they quietly removed them.
Never heard of them, just looked at the "update" videos about it from a year ago and that comes off like a TTS voice with some weird pronunciation. And then I clicked on their Armageddon steel legion song... this seriously sounds like it was made by an AI.
"In ashen wastes where embers glows, steel legionnaires advance in rows
In fires glow their might behold, on treads of wrath to war they go"
I'm not normally one to bother nitpicking music, but that "embers glows" stuck out like a sore thumb to the point where I had to go back and see if I managed to read and hear it wrong. And there's some other somewhat questionable word choices in the rest of the lyrics, but the way it comes off so incredibly forced to match the music, it's just weird. And the lion awakes song, again it's very forced and weird. Their stuff from 4 years ago like their krieg rap thing and the adepta sororitas song that actually got millions of views come off as being far higher quality.
What a lame channel.
Pedophile in Stringstorm? First time I've heard of this. Have a post or something talking about it?
These videos seem to be about the guy who runs the channel admitting to it although the screenshot link in the first description is dead
So I guess they got caught DM'ng minors(seriously, wtf is it with content creators online? stop trying to fuck kids) and seem to have made some weird halfassed return that gets fuck all for views, that sounds like they're using some AI bullshit that they didn't have access to years ago when they were actually popular(I've never heard of them but whatever)
WHFB is an old man game designed for autistic people such as myself. The barrier of entry is higher because low points fantasy barely functions and you have less exciting models due to the way ranks have to work. I love it and play it alot but it's an exceptionally niche game compared to 40k where everyone ever had had a tactical marine box.
Absolutely, but at the same time it's just that the popularity it has gotten back as the old world, only seems to be the equivalent of the mcrib disappearing for a few years and everyone wanting one when it comes back. It's just that I can't buy the excuses about the models being old, rules not getting updated, etc. when the exact same thing was happening to 40k at practically the exact same time and it survived without turning into entirely just space marines vs space marines(horus heresy kinda does that but that's beside the point). I don't want to see The Old World die off, having multiple games for people to play is great even if I'm not personally a fan. It's just that I wouldn't expect much out of it after another couple of years once the hype finally dies down.
Legions Imperialis is likely also going to turn out the same way. Epic and Apocalypse have both come and gone multiple times now over the years. In this case, Epic sounds great being able to field armies of dozens of big ass models you normally wouldn't be able to in a game of 40k or even 30k. But except for the rarity of when they do some box thing like the starter or those solar auxilia and space marine boxes a few months back, the shit is literally just as expensive as normal scale. $52 lets you put 4 tiny tanks(they're actually pretty good for detail considering the size) on the table, but you'll still need dozens of groups of tanks like like a 30k tank is normally $80 and you'd need a handful of those. Troops? Yeah you're putting them down on the table by the dozen, but those few dozen troops are hardly any points and cost as much as a 30k/40k scale squad anyway. And even those battlegroup discount boxes, they padded the space marine one with 10 fucking rhinos? By the time you build yourself a 2500/3000 point army in epic, you're going to be in it at least a few hundred bucks assuming you don't pad it out with the warhound titans from the starter box that you may or may not want(nevermind the other half of the starter box you may or may not want) and that's still before being able to get an variety in your lists between games.
Give it another couple of years, that game will likely die off. They'll probably try to bring apocalypse back again, and the cycle will continue.
