Schizo crack theory: The King in Yellow is either Horus, or in my opinion some sort of derivative of Horus. I am leaning towards a son or descendant because in the End and the Death Horus thinks about how he wants actual biological children. He explicitly doesn't want tube babies and wants to do something his father never could and get with a lady. Why would Abnett include such a specific detail?
We already know who the King in Yellow is. It was revealed at the end of the latest custodes novel.

It's the first of the 10,000; the original Custodes leader, Constantin Valdor.

Since it's literally impossible for him to have actually having fallen to chaos or becoming disloyal to the Emperor (but not the Imperium) it puts a huge spin on everything.

Horus shall have a granddaughter named Rey Lupercal, who then destroys him by absorbing the collective power of all the Primarchs.

This makes me wonder something lore wise, it’s explained the space marines cannot reproduce, but is that also extended to Primarchs? I remember someone mentioning Fulgrim had wives as he took over Chemos, but I’m uncertain about Primarchs?

Would big E want his sons to be able to have normal children? A kind of... pseudo-sensei situation?

I can't really see what the benefit would be for the Imperium.

I remain convinced the funniest possible outcome for the FemStodes thing, other than GW just quietly ignoring the retcon going forward (which I genuinely think is the plan) -- would be the Grimdark thing of them accidentally creating a Transhumanist replacement superhuman race by allowing Custodes to breed.

Custodes are fanatically loyal to the Emperor but have little to no agency. The perfect bodyguard and figurehead leaders for planets. But that's not innate to them, they're brainwashed to be that way over the course of decades of training and "psychosurgery" or whatnot.

A Custodes + Custodes kid, or even FemStodes + Human kid would NOT have that brainwashing but WOULD have all the genetic modifications that the Custodes have. They'd have absolutely no reason to be loyal to the Imperium or Emperor AT ALL other than how they're raised.

Black Liabrary is waiting for Abnett to finish Pandemonium
Abnett has been on the record saying the book has been done for ages now. The problem is GW is holding it back to coincide with "something" which is assumed to be the amazon show to make sure nothing in it contradicts the show and it can be edited at the last minute as needed. That was allegedly confirmed by Abnett when someone asked about it at a book signing earlier this year.

I guess? But they've already had Fabius Bile doing that with his "new men". It also brings up the problem of an engineered human race that just goes berserk and acts like a living combat weapon like the Krogan in mass effect, but Basilio Fo's anti space marine virus was only created once the siege of terra was in full swing, not in advance of the astartes project.

Not that it would stop GW, but it makes no sense with the theory that a primarch revolt was inevitable if the goal was to have them wipe themselves out at the end in a controlled fashion once the conquest of the galaxy was over just like the thunder warriors were eliminated once no longer needed. This is also potentially supported with the emperor intentionally being a dickhead to roughly half of them, Magnus being built as a battery to sit on the throne instead of himself, and the actually stated goal of eliminating mankind's dependence on the warp for everything including travel and communication(which was the point of the webway project) to eliminate the grip that the navigators had on control of galactic navigation(and of course demon incursions).

I wish we could get a Space Marine style shooter where we play as an Iron Hand and the progression system is just us becoming depressed and self-conscious looking in a mirror and continuously chopping off more and more body parts to be replaced with tech.

That's my dream.

That's my dream.
And then you die horrifically at the end of the game on some sort of suicide mission, hoping that in death your duty has finally ended, only to wake up in a Dreadnought chassis.

"How do you feel, Brother?"
"For the first time in my life, I feel alive and whole."

That Dow 4 reveal was ass. That gameplay looked rough, and I honestly don't understand the faction choices. And should it prove moderately successful, prepare for a drip feed of content until you can buy the complete edition in 2036. Probably without all factions since I would expect most of the DLC to be either unit packs or Space Marine Chapters.

Is there a specific reason the blood ravens have been the focus of the Dawn of War games? I suppose I'm glad it isn't ultramarines I could easily see that getting pushed for in a boardroom.
Blood Ravens were made specifically for DoW1 so as to have an original chapter that wouldn't conflict with any canon chapters that Relic could write however they wanted.

I applaud anyone who paints AoS models because that shit looks terrifying. DoK in particular (the one I'm interested in).

The models are spectacular but goddamn painting them must be a massive challenge. I genuinely believe that outside of maybe Sisters, 40k has 0 of the detail AoS does.

As expected they had some demos available so we've got more gameplay footage to see what they're at least trying to do.

They weren't allowed to record their gameplay, but there's some more b-roll footage of gameplay provided, and they can discuss what they saw in the alpha demo whatever thing.

So it's like a 50/50, with the only difficult models to paint being the old Warhammer fantasy ones they moved over. I'm constantly surprised with how well designed aos kits are for painting.

My wife paints DoK, and most of the models have pretty clean transitions between materials, not requiring tons of blending or anything. Just don't glue them to a base before you're done painting and you'll be fine. Also, do the skin first

can someone please explain the Primaris hate? cus I don't get it.
Obviously I'm not impartial but I like them. I think they were necessary. The setting of 40K would not make sense anymore if it were not a permanent stalemate and one faction became clearly victorious but that doesn't mean nothing ever happens in that stalemate. Tyranids learn more every time they chow down on biomass; the T'au are moving ahead by leaps and bounds; Necrons are waking up and crankily ordering intruders off their lawns. Clearly the Imperium has to do something. The objection I've often seen is that part of the real life inspiration for the setting is medieval Europe which was (allegedly) completely stagnant and backwards so the Imperium and in particular the Mechanicus has to be that way too. The characterization of the medieval period is not true. People often think about the Golden Age of Islam, and they're not wrong to do so, but one can also look at medieval Christendom (i.e. part of the inspiration for the Mechanicus):
