What game did you finish today?

I just beat Assassins Creed 2.

Great game. Although I'm disappointed it ended on a cliffhanger just like it's predecessor.

Well, it wasn't today, but I finished The Dog Island a few days ago. It really is a super cute game. It even had a miniature dating system and a boss fight at the end.

Last night I finished up Rin's route in Katawa Shoujo.

Quite a ride that was.

Just finished the fan translation of Fire Emblem 12 on lunatic. Great game to play in short bursts and it's free so if you like SRPGs you really should get an emulator and download it.
The story is something of a mixed bag and your main character is a blatant Mary Sue though.

I managed to beat the story mission of Ground Zeroes. Now I'm just going to try the bonus missions later.

I finally finished F.E.A.R. and it's expansion packs Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate on Hardest difficulty.
What can I say, they were good, solid FPS games, but the "horror" elements to that game were lame/cheesy at best. Thankfully the games were paced really well so it had a good mixture of "atmosphere" and gameplay.

So I just beat Parasite Eve.

Honestly, I can't help but feel the game could have been more. Story wise, it was actually pretty interesting and original. It was interesting playing as a 25 year old female cop. Plus the music was great.

I can't really say the same for the gameplay. It was interesting at first, moving around dodging attacks and waiting for my AT guage to raise and shooting. However, I kinda felt it didn't evolve (ironically enough considering the game's subject) that much to really feel engaging. It didn't help that the several different kinds of weapon types are for the most part useless. In this game, a pistol can do just as much damage as a grenade launcher. The former of which fires more quickly, so why bother using the latter? The only usage for it at that point is to just upgrade the pistol using a tool.

If the game made it so that enemies are strong or weak against certain kinds of weapons and ammo wasn't universal, I feel the gameplay could have been more engaging for me.

I'll say this, the game was an interesting experiment, but I feel it didn't reach it's full potential.

I liked the horror elements since they were left mostly unexplained until the second half of the game onwards. And you wouldn't know who the little girl was or why the player is the only one seeing her unless you listened to the voicemail messages throughout the game. Which was a really effective variation of audio logs in my opinion since it was more realistic to listen to a person's voicemail message.

While F.E.A.R was mildly popular when it first came out I've noticed it has become a lot more popular in recent years due to how well designed it's AI was and how great the combat was.

I think that a lot of it has to do with the level design and how most of the combat encounters happened in quite 'open' areas where there were many passageways for the A.I to utilize in flanking maneuvers and a lot of the fighting spaces were really three-dimensional as well so there was more capacity for the A.I to really show off the cool tricks it could do to create the illusion that you weren't fighting just some dumb robots. Playing on the hardest difficulty, I had to redo many of the encounters multiple times and really use those Proximity mines and auto-gun turrets to be able to survive, because the enemy would be coming from multiple angles at once and using grenades really effectively.

Finally beaten Shadow Warrior (2013). Enjoyed playing it to the end even if the final battle in the penultimate stage against the demons was annoying. The final boss was pretty fun to fight against and the final cutscene was rather somber, especially after viewing the final memory.

Finished Postal 2's Apocalypse Week on Hestonworld. Final boss was easy with the sawed-off since it was an OP gun. Also beaten Revengeance. Honestly love how they give you the suit and sword of Gray Fox. Also loved the final boss fight against Senator Armstrong.

I finally beat Pokemon Red. I was actually planning on raising my team to Lvl 74, but just for shits and giggles I decided to battle against the Elite Four to see how far I can go. Surprisingly I breezed through them and even my shitty rival.

(The saddest thing is that this is my first time beating a core Pokemon game, yeah I'm that pathetic)

I just finished Shadowrun: Dragonfall. One of the better isometric RPGs I've played in a while. Can't wait for Hong Kong.

Finished Confidential Mission on the Dreamcast. Pretty fun, but I kinda wish it was longer.

I just finished Deus Ex: HR Directors Cut. I'm a stealthy bastard.

Today, I managed to beat the best kicking game known as Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. For a first person RPG, it was pretty fun to just kick things to their death, be it armored mercenaries who would fall into a pit sound like Cobra Commander or a red orc who would collide with a conveniently placed spike wall.
