What game did you finish today?

I just finished Legend of Zelda: A link between worlds and now I'm doing hard mode because I like to hate myself apparently.

The game has so many small nods to Link's Awakening that I just know it's Nintendo saying "We aren't ever remaking it so take these eggs and shut up."

In a way, I finally beaten Starbound in terms of finishing all the quest the devs have implemented, at least for now. Honestly hope they make some new ones that are more than just being scavenger hunts.

Zone of the Enders 1. Wow, that was a short game. Fun, challenging but man is it too short. Thankfully, I have the HD remastered version which came with the sequel.

I just beat Disgaea 4 on the Vita. I only played the first one by PSP, and I find this to be my favorite so far. The next Disgaea game I like to get in the future is the third one or the sequel to the first game.

Resident Evil HD, finished very easy with Chris and I've saved everyone. You da man Chris! My first time beating Resident Evil, yay! :)

Hotline Miami 2. I enjoyed it overall, although it is decidedly one of those kind of games you find joy in after it keeps you around the building for a half hour.... each level.

I've finally beaten Wizardry without the Christian Coder Mod, using an all Rawulf party. Even though I had an NPC join my party, I had him leave just before the final boss fight so as to make it end with just an all-Rawulf party. Kinda surprised to see how the final boss differed from a modded version in having only near a 1000 HP (compared to a CC mod where he had 3500). Now my party rules the universe as its gods.

Finished Mother 2 A.K.A Earthbound and my god that was a experience,Much like when i played MGS1 i have to say Earthbound was such a amazing game i loved every moment playing it and it's little moments that made me both laugh and cry while playing the game.So now it's off to play Mother 3 and see if it lives up to how good Earthbound was like MGS1 and MGS2.

I finished FFVII a few days ago, and that game is indeed a classic. Although I'm not quite sure why the game needed three discs, as I spent 15-20 hours each on the first two discs, yet the third disc only has the final dungeon and boss fights (unless there's more bonus stuff I missed?). I guess because the ending has a long(ish) FMV? I don't know, but the game certainly lived up to my expectations. I also thought that the first half of the final boss was really clever, with you switching between three different parties to combat Sephiroth.

I just beat Outlaws

For a game from 97 it's very technically impressive (since it's a 2.5D game with true room over room. And it runs on the same engine as Dark Forces). It also features really good voice acting and cutscenes (all of which gives the game an aesthetic of a Disney animated film).

However the map design for the singleplayer campaign was a bit annoying. Frequently I'd get lost and have to backtrack throughout the level until I discovered where I had to go. This was doubly annoying in that each level would only end upon defeating a boss. However the boss usually would be in a random room somewhere in the level and you'd frequently kill them without knowing and end the level without the game asking you to.

Not that a lot of this was unique for games at the time, but it was certainly flawed in my opinion. However the gunplay was really good (to my knowledge it's the first game to feature a sniper rifle scope, which it also incorporated really well), the soundtrack was excellent and I really liked the story and the aesthetic. I'd go as far as to say Outlaws is one of my favorite 2.5D first person shooters.

I feel the game is largely overlooked due to releasing after Quake and Duke Nukem 3D. After Duke the 2.5D market was pretty much dead and it's considered the reason Strife isn't remembered either. It still is one of my favorite Old West games alongside stuff like Red Dead Redemption. Thankfully it has released on GoG so now more people can play it than possible when the game initially released.

It also had a few little details I liked. Like how the main character is left handed while all of the multiplayer characters are right handed. All of the multiplayer characters also have completely different first person sprites and different stats. I heard the multiplayer for Outlaws was reasonably popular back in the 90s (evidenced by how it has over 1500 custom multiplayer maps according to one archive I found) so I'll have to check more of it out.

what did you think of the final boss?
I thought it was a little underwhelming as I had more trouble with the 2 titans I fought immediately prior to the final boss. I did like all of the foreshadowing for the final boss, in interview tapes and other stuff though.

I actually breezed through the two titans but had a ton of issues with Joker.
I'm sure it was just my playing style. I just found the Joker Fight easier because each time you hit Joker as the hit that knocks the peg off you got a bunch of health back so the trick was just not getting too badly knocked around by Joker and his goons afterward. I'm kind of better at dealing with thugs and I can handle one titan, but my first instinct is to stun the first one and wail on it, which was complicated by the second one charging and it was really late so I was kind of slow to learn that, like a sleepy Dark Side Phil. :P

Just beaten STALKER: Call of Pripyat for the fourth time. The only thing different is that the military personnel at the evacuation point didn't die in the Monolith attack.
