What game did you finish today?

Gun. As fun as it is, the final boss is annoying since you have to use explosives to hurt him, even though it's only his torso that is protected by the breastplate of a Conquistador and his head is unprotected.

Just finished Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition.

Great game. It was challenging, the world was immersive, the lore is intriguing, the bosses were fun. It's a very good game overall.

Now that I've beaten it though, I'm kinda left with this... hollow feeling. I kinda want to play through it again and try for a Dex or Faith build.

Oh man, I liked Gun. The main problem I had with the game is that it's an open-world game with absolutely nothing to do after you beat the missions which is a shame because the game world is pretty well crafted. And as far as boss fights go, I liked that preacher dude bossfight the best.

As for games that I have finishes myself goes, well it wasn't today, but the last game that I beat was Metro : Last Light. It was a really good game with a lot of attention to detail and great graphics, but what was annoying that even though the earlygame and midgame were great, the endgame had too much of those outdoor segments where you go fight the mutants and those were too long and often stacked back-to-back so you ended up having one long surface section with a boss fight, then getting back to underground for a short while, then another long surface section, then another surface section after it and a bossfight. In my personal opinion the mutant boss fights were lame as shit because they were recycling the same pattern(wait for the boss to do something, then they're vulnerable and you can hurt them) constantly and generally didn't really even feel like they belonged to the Metro setting. The pacing was all kinds of awful in the lategame, but Metro : LL was still a really good and atmospheric FPS game.

Yeah, within the game, you pretty much have two cities to go to and after beating it, you only have some side quest to do such as hunting down outlaws or being a deputy..
It wouldn't be even that bad if some of the sidequests would be repeatable or the outlaws would spawn in groups bigger than two measly outlaws. But then again, we have RDR now, it has a much better freeroam aspect, although I consider myself "done" with the game just after doing the main storyline once.

I completed Persona 3 Portable some days ago. I thought Nyx would be a bitch with stinky cunt but the battle was easier than I expected and I only died once through it. I kinda cried when I saw the ending ;_;

After that, I watched a playthrough of the Answer since it does not appear in the Portable version of the game. Also caused some feels.

Overall, I liked the game a whole lot. I already downloaded another emulator to play P4. I will do that after exams are over, though. It also has a pretty cool soundtrack, I listen to that everyday when I walk home from school. I am on a female character playthrough now, will probably finish that soon since I chose the Beginner difficulty level.

also fuck u @Marella for making me waste my time playing gay ass anime fag games, i kil u IRL m8

Nyx is really only hard if you're underlevelled or don't really take advantage of the Persona fusing system. Since she cycles between different elements.

If you were like me though and grinded to 95 to get Messiah (dabes Persona) she's one of the easier bosses in the game (especially compared to Death and Elizabeth). If you're willing to play the NG+ you could fight the superboss Elizabeth in the secret dungeon (The one you unlock by beating Death during Elizabeth's sidequest).

Yeah, I gonna try to do that in my female playthrough (I chose Theo btw). I was thinking of fighting Death before but I just sticked to training in Tartarus to get ready for Nyx.

The hidden dungeon in Tartarus gives you tons of XP.

I seriously got to level 95 within 20 minutes from like level 70 by just grinding there. You get so much XP that the final part of Tartarus is much slower by comparison.

Got the good ending in Infamous 2. I'm saving the evil ending for another time. Console wise, I want to continue Tales of Xillia before Smash Bros Wii U consumes my life.

I just completed Assassins Creed 1.

I thought it was an excellent game although not as good objectively as 2. I did really enjoy the setting and characters but I felt it did get repetitive toward the middle of the game. Especially since I completed all the sidequests.

However toward the end I really liked the final three assassinations you perform and how complex the storyline got. And I really really liked the final boss fight, especially since the area you fight him in is also the very first area in the game. However the game ended on an absurd cliffhanger that lead into AC2.

A playthrough of binding of Isaac rebirth. Does that count? AUGH YEAH and things.

The reboots music can go blow itself up with a bomb

I beat Dragon Age: Origins last night BY THE SKIN OF MY FUCKING TEETH.

My companions were all knocked out by the Archdemon during the final battle. My rouge character that dual-wields was at low health. I was slowly killing the archdemon with ballistas and got it down really low. I decided "Fuck it!" and went in and tried getting as much damage on the archdemon as I could, until the final death animation happened. Then I got killed by a wandering darkspawn arrow, but the next cut-scene happened before the fail state could finish. I got so fucking lucky.

I beat Pokemon Chinese Emerald last night.

Actually the game kept freezing just after the "four kings" so I couldn't go on past that point. (:_(

I just beat Borderlands 2 on single player mode. Going through all of the rather insane moments, beating the final boss and "ending it" was one of most satisfying moments in any game.

I just beat Half Life 2... again.

Still a great game and has surprisingly enough aged really well. The action is still great, the seamless nature of how it transitions between cutscenes, combat and puzzles is still breathtaking and of course the soundtrack is amazing.

Just beat Omega Ruby yesterday. Totes worth it, yo.

Just beaten Bayonetta 2 a few minutes ago.

While I don't think it's quite as good as the first, it's still a really fun and stylish game that carries over one of the most fluid and engaging combat systems I've played in an action game.

It also does a pretty decent job at expanding upon the first game's mythos and story IMO.

Just finished playing Assassin's Creed: Rogue today, aka, the other AC game that just came out that actually works, but no one is paying attention because Unity sucks so hard.

Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised by Rogue. It's essentially Black Flag except with a new protagonist and set in the north during the French & Indian War. Also this time, you're playing a Templar that has become disillusioned about what the Assassin's have done, not giving away any spoilers. But yeah, if you liked Black Flag, give this one a go. If you also like the Assassin's Creed mythos, DEFINITELY give this a go, as it helps to patch up a lot of stuff that happened between Black Flag and ACIII. There are a few glaring downsides (the economy is broken again, akin to Brotherhood where you will eventually have more money than you'll ever need; the usual gamut of bizarre AI that the AC series is known for; the fact that running around in the arctic tundra is never as fun as island hopping in the West Indies), but if you're an AC fan, this is a good, solid game.

Just busted through Resident Evil: Revelations yesterday. It's a shorter game, at least compared to the usual RE fair, but unlike the standard RE fair, this one was actually really really enjoyable. Definately my most favorite since RE4 and and the REmake.

Up next on my god=awfully huge backlog, Dragon Age: Origins. Bought this when it first came out and its been languishing since, mostly because back then I couldn't understand the controls (I'm from the school of "hammer the buttons for results" not "press the button and watch for things to happen." But now I think I'm getting somewhere... I just met Morrigan! Woo, progress!
