Containment What will happen when Chris goes to prison? - Or a mental hospital. Or anything in between.

The docs would have to verify barb has been sexually active within the last month and It'll be hard to tell if they fucked recently since semen can only stay viable in the female body for 5 days. Really best case scenario and this is wayyyy on the optimistic side this whole thing was Chris being blackmailed into saying what he said and nothing happened but Chris is gonna finally be officially labeled as retarded by the state and put up in a psych ward for as long as medicaid holds out.

Worst case scenario? He's found guilty, but the troon and tism make the jury have pity on him and he gets the lightest possible sentence a year on jail with the heavy fine. Story of his life really.
Chris said they have sex every 3 nights, so 5 days is plenty of time given they quickly took her in to check up on her the same day the news was leaked. I doubt Chris is keeping time on this, but I would expect that as time went on he'd consider doing it more as he got comfortable with it, not less.

He has just admitted to incest - meaning that the prosecution will be able to easily find him guilty
While I would normally agree with you, Chris has a history of trolls and coercion and make believe. Without evidence or testimony from Barb, they'll never be able to prove that this isn't the same as the time Chris was blackmailed into lying and thought he could prove he wasn't a gaybian by holding a transformer, or that it isn't the same as when Chris plays make believe and said he was Sonichu for real for months at a time. If the lawyer is smart and convinces Chris to say he plays that shit up for comedy and isn't actually crazy, they can give reasonable doubt that the audio clip is either coerced or merely comedic fantasy roleplay, neither of which are illegal.

This will be an enduring embarrassment for the local court if they don't do anything. Laws will be bent to set an example.

If they let Chris walk for fucking his mother, then EVERYONE will just start fucking their own mothers!! If that law against fucking your own mother is compromised, then what reason would anyone have, to not fuck their own mother?!?

You'll end up with a kid like Chris.

It's unlikely that Barb is with it enough to testify, but I also doubt that Chris even thought about removing the evidence.

I doubt Chris wore a condom, so there's likely to be dried semen somewhere. The Chandler equivalent of the blue dress just needs to be found.

I don't even think he'll get that. Probably a suspended sentence or he'll be sent off to a tard home of some sort. In that home, ideally he'll get the treatment he needs, never use the internet without supervision, and hopefully Sockness kills himself out of loneliness. It would also be ideal that Chris NEVER sees Barb again. Even disregarding.... THIS, that woman has been an emotionally abusive bitch who has contributed to ruining his life. These two need to be far away from eachother until Snorelax abandons this mortal coil

Which gender is going to be assigned to? Either way he might be forced to drop the soap.

With the crazy deference troons get today, they'll probably stick him in a womens' prison and let him choose his own petite cell mate.
I doubt it. A competent criminal defense lawyer will recognize that this is a slam dunk not criminally responsible case. A decade of publicly documented detachment from reality, along with a confused relationship with Barb means it will be quite possible that a judge will be convinced that Chris could not have the requisite mental state (that is to know what they are doing is *wrong*) needed to convict for a crime.

As many others have noted, Chris will likely be placed into the care of whichever agency is responsible for the care of people found not criminally responsible by reason of mental defect.

Well, maybe not. Depends on the women there.

^ Believe it or not, that's a fucking woman. Imagine if that's his prison inmate.

So many people in here are saying he is legally insane. He started those infamous texts by saying "On the Strictly Confidential just between you and I"

In that written statement alone, he knew what he was doing was wrong and he was trying to hide it. A documentary filmmaker has been recording his life and Chris never mentioned these sexual incidents to him. A legally insane person would have no problem broadcasting what they were doing to the world because they don't understand it is wrong and that it could lead to trouble.

The courts don't care if you eat your own shit or believe in a cartoon electric rodent, that doesn't have anything to do with being legally insane or punishable. They just care about whether you knew it was wrong and do you understand the punishment. Chris, who routinely drew comics about his enemies facing the consequences of their perceived wrongdoing, and even going to jail if IIRC, understands this. And yes, they can use the online evidence against him. Just like if OJ Simpson wrote a comic about killing his wife. And imagine what kind of shit they'll find if they go through his internet search history. A lot of how to stimulate geriatric pussy articles.

The real tipping point when it comes to criminal charges is going to be Barb. Will she testify against Chris? As far as I can tell she's never been found incompetent or diagnosed with anything, so I'm assuming there's no hurdle there. But I think the obvious answer is no. The allegations are embarrassing and she doesn't want Chris to go to jail. The DA isn't going to want to pursue it on his own just for Barb to fuck it all up by testifying on Chris' behalf that nothing happened.

However, one thing people are missing is that the authorities may be more inclined to step in because Chris is such a pain in the ass to them. We see this every time when people call the cops to report him and before you can even finish a sentence they say " [sigh] this is about Chris Chandler, right??" All those calls might make them want to pursue a case against him just to put him somewhere where they don't have to deal with him.

So in the worst case scenario, where he does some jail time or is sent to a group home or institution, I don't think that's really a bad thing. He'll get some structure in his life, he's not disabled so they'll probably give him chores to do and a schedule to follow. He won't be able to buy vidya and Pony shit. His internet usage will be monitored. He may even learn a life skill to become a functioning adult. But now we're getting into the realm of wishful thinking. I'm just saying I could see Chris benefiting from a stricter environment.

The thing is, whilst the secrecy may be used by prosecution to invite an inference of mens rea, it could just as easily be interpreted as a reaction against trolls, for which Chris's paranoia is well documented now. I certainly agree that Barb is key - if there's no complainant, these cases typically collapse. However, even if Barb testifies, prosecution must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Chris understands - that is fully appreciates and realizes - incest is wrong. Considering just how disturbed Chris is and how detached from reality, along with documented instances of being trivially maniuplated into believing bullshit, I think this is a very high bar to clear.

Certainly the best outcome is some kind of instituitionalization, be it in a group home, or something even more intensive than that. I don't think incarceration is going to help, but leaving her to fend for herself mired in her ridiculous delusions has been a gongshow for 15 years now.

Is Barb even able to have the choice not to press charges against Chris considering her mental state? Is she even aware of her own situation that she could do that?
That depends on whether Virginia thinks she's mentally competent (bear in mind that I'm a Britbong and don't know too much about American law, so I could be wrong). If they do, she'd have the choice not to press charges. If they don't, the state can and will press the charges for her.
