Using the latest iphone and realizing it's shit, switching to samsung next phone.

Is it actually good? I read that you can see the division between the two screens.
You can feel it, and see it when the phone is off, or when looking at it from an angle, but if you are looking straight at your phone with it on you can't see it. I got mine 2 weeks ago and am very happy with it.

It is great! Not perfect, but the technology has progressed enough where I can recommend it. Going back to a flip-style of phone while having the capabilities of a smartphone is a winning combination.

Hmmm interesting, cuz I've been stuck between getting the s21 or just a flip.

S21 or S21 Ultra? If just the standard S21, you are not going to see a massive difference between it and the Flip 3.

Ultra has the best camera on the market outside of Huawei's spy phones.

Def the ultra. Standard is eh like go big or go home, just still dunno if its that or the flip.
The Ultra is 200 dollars more expensive for a significantly better device. The Flip is great if you are into its very specific offerings and do not need a high-powered phone.

Current: Motorola One 5G Ace. I've stuck with Android for years and refuse to go back to iPhones.

Future: Probably another midranger since those retain both the headphone jack and microSD slot.

How do you like the One 5G Ace? I plan on getting one on Black Friday.

My previous phone was the Moto G Stylus, which had less RAM and no NFC. So the One 5G Ace is a slight improvement in those areas. One downside is the lack of stereo speakers which the Stylus had. But I think the phone is worth it if you can get it cheap.

Marked reduction in audio quality, audio lag, lack of responsiveness, the need for another wireless devices that has batteries to recharge (that are not user replaceable), and if you live or work in an urban area wireless interference from other users also using Bluetooth is a fucking nightmare.

Wired headphones just work, every time, dont need batteries, and dont suffer from wireless interference. I use bluetooth in my car, sure, but my walking headphones are wired (and I'm not going to replace what already works), and my home audio and truck systems are not wireless.

The better question is, what is wrong with having options? The samsung S5 had a headphone jack and still had both a removable battery and was water proof. The removal of the jack is driven by greed, nothing more.

Which means placing more wear and tear on your USB port, along with strain on the port when the cable moves. USB isnt nearly as durable as the 3.5mm jack was. And at least in personal experience, those USB dongles are completely hit and miss on whether they work properly, and have a tendency to fail after a few months of usage. ESPECIALLY the apple ones. And of course you lose the ability to charge the device and use headphones at the same time.
Seems only Sony and ASUS are still putting headphone jacks on flagship phones.

Too bad the Zenphone 8 DOESNT have SD card support

You can't really. I played with one a coworker bought and it's great. A really neat piece of technology

Holy fuck I am such an idiot. The phone I bought was carrier unlocked from verizon which means the bootloader cannot be unlocked. The seller even listed in his description the model number for verizon phones. Now I have to send it back and order a different one. AAAARRRGH!!!

Good news is the seller will probably accept my return and give me a full refund, plus I don't have to pay return shipping, and I have already purchased a different one that is from google and not verizon.

Any reason why the Steam Deck wouldn't have a SIM card in it to allow for mobile networking?

I would just get a Deck and use it as a mobile computer with phone and texting capabilities when my current device dies.

Linux mobile handheld tablet with mobile capabilities.

I have the note 9. No clue what my next would be, I'm hoping this will last me for a long time (fingers crossed)
I miss the fuck out of flip phones but I have no interest in spending a thousand on one. The only thing even keeping me with a smartphone is the camera and the fact that I use them like an mp3 player.
Maybe one day I'll just buy a nice digital camera and hit my dad up for my old Walkman or something. Then just buy a cheap flip phone from straighttalk

well i finally got my motorola one 5g ace. granted, its the gimped version that only has 64gb of storage and 4gb of ram, but its still better than the phone i had before

I currently have a Samsung Note 9. The power and Bixby buttons have fallen off. Once it finally dies, I plan to get one of those cheaper phones like the Poco M3, realme 8 or Moto G Fast. Probably gonna swap to a custom rom. I'm not going back to Samsung for a long time. Their phones don't offer good value-for-money.

I'd also want to get a feature phone. The Japanese used to make the cutest ones. Unfortunately, it's a dying industry. I don't think they've released new models for 2020. I'd get a Freetel Musashi or an Infobar, though I wouldn't mind any as long as they work.
