Not only is he terrified of having any sort of confrontation out in public, but going shopping and having to manoeuvre around people must be his biggest ordeal he comes across each week. Searching through the aisles looking for his mounds of frozen junk and stacks of paper plates, avoiding eye contact with people, hoping no one recognises him as "the guy!", pondering the thoughts about how much money should he spend and how much he should spend on mobile games as he reaches the counter, making sure he doesn't carry too many groceries back into the car so he doesn't trigger a back injury.

Honestly it would be like watching Robin Williams walking around when he escaped the board game for the first time with how he behaves around people.

Phil has not mentioned it as far as I know. He said he was gonna play it and then a few days before release he went completely silent about it. Part of me wishes the reason is he couldn't afford it, but I know that's not an excuse for Phil, it's just a reason to beg harder. Maybe he thought it wasn't gonna draw a lot of autistic people to increase his stream or maybe it was because of the leaks the game suffered or the fact that people said it's not as stupidly easy and hand holding as Sw/Sh S/M was. Or a combination of those reasons.

It would look good if he just put together a game room. Plenty of people have game rooms with bookshelves full of games, posters, and game boxes, and it looks good. Phil only put a couch is his "office", put a few boxes up as decoration, and it looks horrible.

A lot of the trainers have competitively viable movesets at higher levels, and as someone who has dabbled in competitive Pokemon, it will not be easy for Phil.

Yeah, that's what I meant by saying the game doesn't hold your hand as much. The thing is, if the game won't hold his hand, I think his chat devolved so much that they won't be able to either. I think it's actually a good thing to introduce competitive trainers to fight in the game and the remakes were actually quite good. But I can imagine Phil seeing that the game actually requires a brain and instantly dropping it. Or who knows, maybe OIC told him not to play it.

Yeah, it would look good if he'd put some effort into it like most people who want to display their collections, even if it was just a collection of empty boxes a little organization could make it look nice. Although this is DSP we're talking about so I'm not sure if he's capable of something like that, lol.
