Yeah, they focus on game play and experience. Metroid has no lore outside of some drawings in the manual. The Wii ones weren't first party.inb4 some fag says Earthbound
Someone will argue Metroid too, but there is absolutely nothing deep about Metroid.
(Also there is nothing wrong with that. In fact, that is part of the charm)
i'll do itinb4 some fag says Earthbound
"ALIENS could be here" he thought, "I've never been in this neighborhood before. There could be ALIENS anywhere." The cool wind felt good against his bare chest. "I HATE ALIENS" he thought. Pollyanna reverberated his entire backpack, making it pulsate even as the $9 OrangeJuice circulated through his powerful thick veins and washed away (merited) fear of extraterrestrials after dark. "With teleportation, you can go anywhere you want" he said to himself, out loud.
"GIYGAS could be here" he thought, "I've never been in this neighborhood before. GIYGAS could be anywhere." The cool wind felt good against his bare chest. "I HATE GIYGAS" he thought. Smiles and Tears reverberated his entire backpack, making it pulsate even as the $9 Can of fruit juice circulated through his powerful thick veins and washed away (merited) fear of eldrich horrors after dark. "With teleportation, you can go anywhere you want" he said to himself, out loud.
"PORKY could be here" he thought, "I've never been in this neighborhood before. PORKY could be anywhere." The cool wind felt good against his bare chest. "I HATE PORKY" he thought. Gymnopedie No. 1 reverberated Tazmily Village, making it pulsate even as the DP8 Big city soda circulated through his powerful thick veins and washed away (merited) fear of fat sociopaths after dark. "With family death, you can experience deep despair any time you want" he said to himself, out loud.
Splatoon, but the three games were made in quick successionDo any first party Nintendo games actually have deep lore spanning multiple games? I can't think of a single example. Hell, I can't think of an example of a single Nintendo game with deep lore.
well now you're just being rude. The Zonai were an ancient tribe of Hyrule whose technological advancements brought great prosperity but also great peril. All that remained after their extinction were their creations, which lay dormany for millenia. After thousands and thousands of years, a princess of the royal Hylian bloodline traveled back through time to create the major races of Hyrule in what is known as the Great Gangbang. Her partnership with the Goat-one bequeathed the races, and, over time, her subsequent pairings with the Great Ancestors of those races ensured the birth of divine individuals who would one day help save Hyrule from the Demon King. With so many Great Bangs came Great Sacrifice, and the princess was draconified so that the Sword that Shines Through the Darkness might slay again. In the process of draconification, She bequeefed the land as it is known today. No amount of Great Calamity or Great Gloomy Goop could undo such Gangbangery as long as a time time-travelling, dragon-whore princess, and her 5'1" beta-cuck swordsman were determined to stop it.
Shit's reeaalll deep.
...oh wow. i didn't realize that you didn't watch the tears. That's Queen Sonia you dumbass. King Rauru's WIFE.@Betonhaus It's nothing personal. Just a dumb, made-up synopsis of a dumber story in a game that took six years to end up being over-hyped and underwhelming. At least they let me skip the cutscenes so I'll give them that. But seeing a statue of Zelda and the Goat everytime I finish a shrine is cringe as fuck.
Skipping all cutscenes and NPC dialouge and then complaining that the game makes no sense is standard gamer behavior in fact its a tradition at this point. only fags care about the lore,...oh wow. i didn't realize that you didn't watch the tears. That's Queen Sonia you dumbass. King Rauru's WIFE.
why the fuck are you shitting on the storyline if you're skipping cutscenes and significant lore events?
I'd say the Metroid Prime games have "deep" lore by Nintendo Standards, since the logbook scans are somewhat interesting, but like I said its only "deep" by Nintendo standards.Someone will argue Metroid too, but there is absolutely nothing deep about Metroid.
I'm not shitting on the story, even though it deserves to be shit on for being a dumb, time-travel plot, I just used my imagination to come up with something based off of shit I've observed in the game world. You have to admit that my mistaking Sonia for Zelda is pretty suspect. I'm not the only one who thought that Zelda went back in time and fucked a goat....oh wow. i didn't realize that you didn't watch the tears. That's Queen Sonia you dumbass. King Rauru's WIFE.

TP Zelda the best Zelda, followed by OOT and then LTTP. BOTW/TOTK Zelda is annoying and I hate her accentBesides, why watch the cutscenes when Zelda is ugly and has a horrible Brit'ish accent? The only worse rendition is Skyword Sword Zelda, but at least she didn't have terrible prison tattoos for her lost Zonai homies.
They didn't even capitalize it. The Secret Stones aren't even capitalized either. Is Secret Stone the accurate translation? Because it sounds like an actual fanfiction tier name.I don't understand why the fuck Treehouse translated 瘴気 into "Gloom". It literally means "Miasma". As in that shit medieval people thought caused the Black Death. Actually, I don't understand why Nintendo still uses Treehouse for translations. At this point it has to be deliberate sabotage.
Just watch them in the original Japanese with subtitles. I refuse to see Zelda as British. At best I'd see the posh clear enunciation that rich Asian woman do.Besides, why watch the cutscenes when Zelda is ugly and has a horrible Brit'ish accent? The only worse rendition is Skyword Sword Zelda, but at least she didn't have terrible prison tattoos for her lost Zonai homies.
It's what you get if you just literally translate the meanings of the kanji in 秘石, however 秘石 from what it looks to me is a deliberate homophone of 秘跡, the Japanese word for Sacrament. It's even got the same first kanji. Notice how there are seven stones, as there are seven sacraments in the Catholic church. I feel translating 秘石 into "Secret Stone" is the equivalent of translating 怪獣 (kaijuu, meaning monster) into "suspicious animal". The reason kaijuu is spelled with those kanji is because in the past people would find the fossilized bones of strange and mysterious beasts that seemed of impossible scale underneath the earth. Today we know those creatures are dinosaurs, but the point is that translating the meanings of individual kanji tends to give you stupid sounding nonsense rather than the meaning of the actual word. Kaijuu means monster, and often refers specifically to a monster of unusually large size, not "suspicious animal", and from that we have the video game word 怪鳥 (kaichou), the kanji "suspicious" and "bird" next to each other. This is meant to mean a giant monster bird, not a suspicious bird. Similarly, 秘石 to me, especially when applied to rocks that are clearly shaped like magatama, gives the impression of something treasured (秘宝, treasure, especially since 石, stone, also means precious stone, i.e. jewel, or gem, and if you want to remove all doubt that you are talking about gemstones you would type 宝石) of extreme religious significance (秘跡). Something sacred, or sacremental if you will. It's just basic word association in Japanese, kinda like how an English speaker would associate any word starting with "mono-" with the number 1.They didn't even capitalize it. The Secret Stones aren't even capitalized either. Is Secret Stone the accurate translation? Because it sounds like an actual fanfiction tier name.
