Funny you should ask. Vito quietly announced last night that his comic has once again been delayed. He very cleverly asserts that he can use this to his advantage to save time on the next issue of his comic by working on issue #2 while #1 is swamped with delays. It makes no sense. It's been 40 days since his last update on the campaign itself, which implies they were very likely to launch by February.

CHRIS VITO GESUALDI EXPOSED: Did Chris try to hide his community college training as a journalist?​

TLDR:

1. Chris Vito Gesualdi claimed to have attended UMass Amherst after graduation from high school on a resume uploaded as a page to his website. He later changed the years he attended high school and college, moving them back a year. In both cases, Gesualdi falsely claimed to be attending college when he was actually still in high school.
   
   
2. Archived blog posts from 2007 state that he actually was attending Greenfield Community College, which he bitterly described as an institution that "exists for those people who were too dumb or poor or both to get into Umass."
   
   
3. A people search website has excerpts from a resume for one Vito Gesualdi, which states that he attended Greenfield Community College for English and Journalism between 2006 and 2008.

@The Yellow Dart already examined the archived versions of the resume page back in September, and found some discrepancies arise over time, though most of them are minor.

Here's something from the final capture of his resume in 2019. October 2011 to February 2013. Pretty cut and dry.

When we travel back to June 2013, this work history looks a bit different:

Funny how that happens. Some things have mysteriously vanished from the resume as well, such as being a video producer for Iron Galaxy and a beta tester for a Sega game on the Nokia N-Gage. Working at Game Stop appears suddenly in 2015 despite it being a position he supposedly left 7 years prior and never listed beforehand while other entry level positions were dropped completely.

None of his blogs or LiveJournal or anything mention working for Game Stop. He did work for a friend's store in a mall named X9 Games which was featured on his original resume, but has since vanished. Perhaps it became easier to just say he worked at Game Stop in those years instead of explaining your buddy hired you to work at his game store at the mall? I'm not sure, it's bizarre. He also has a testimonials page which would only gain one testimonial in the course of five years.

I noticed one myself.

Chris Vito Gesualdi lists his education on the first resume archived from his website, saved from June 2011.

The archived page states that he graduated from high school from 2005, and continued on to the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, also known as UMass Amherst. It is the flagship campus of the system, though, so it is often called "UMass", in the same way people say "University of Michigan" instead of "University of Michigan, Ann Arbor".

Chris Vito Gesualdi even made it to the Dean's List twice. An impressive background.

By November 2011, the years he attended high school and college moved back a year. He now graduated from high school in 2004 instead of 2005. In addition, one of the years he made the Dean's List changed.

I found this odd. On the scale of public schools, UMass Amherst might not be a Berkeley or a Michigan, but is still very decently ranked and a perfectly respectable college to go to. Why did Chris Vito Gesualdi wipe his degree from his resume four years after graduation?

What was the real story?

The first question to clarify things would be when exactly Gesualdi graduated high school. Here's a yearbook I "pulled up". Wait, what's that on the cover?

Yes. Gesualdi didn't graduate in 2004 or 2005, he graduated in 2006!

This blog post dated September 2007 should be roughly around the time that Gesualdi was a senior at UMass, based on his resume. It describes his experiences continuing to be edgy in a college campus setting.

Except it doesn't say he's at UMass. He's at Greenfield Community College, which is located near Amherst, but is definitely not UMass Amherst. He describes Greenfield Community College as a place that "exists for those people who were too dumb or poor or both to get into Umass."

But there's also this blog post from January 2008. It appears to be a roundup featuring photos Gesualdi had not had time to write a blog post about in 2007. Under "Summer", Gesualdi references that readers "may remember ... a trip into the bowels of the flea market this summer", an apparent reference to an August 2007 post about a trip to a flea market.

Further down, also under a heading of "Summer" is an entry entitled "Is that Kimchee? [sic]", which apparently included photos from a college party where a Korean guy threw up. The photos were not archived, but according to the description of the photos, Gesualdi took photos of the guy vomiting and uploaded it to his blog. He called him "this Korean kid", so I guess he didn't even know who this person was.

However, Gesualdi also notes that there was "little to note other than some drinking and me lying to some girl about going to Umass for no reason in particular other than I could" (emphasis added).

Later versions of his website include versions of his blog included as part of what I believe was a web design portfolio, and include writing samples dated August 2007 and June 2008 which are both described as a "Community College Paper".

I did consider whether Gesualdi could potentially have transferred from Greenfield Community College to UMass. The current transfer system in Massachusetts, referred to as MassTransfer, allows community college students to transfer after either one year or two years of community college. Assuming Gesualdi started at Greenfield Community College in 2006, after graduation from high school, he would have gotten in 2 years of study by the time of the 2008 paper. He would still need to attend UMass for about two years.

But this archived page from his website from March 2010 states that he lives in Boston - specifically Cambridge, MA, which is about a two hour drive to the college, making it seem unlikely he was attending at that time.

A people search website lists this resume excerpt for Vito Gesualdi. It describes Vito as having obtained a Associate's Degree in English and Journalism from Greenfield Community College, where he attended from 2006 to 2008. This is consistent with the archived material from Chris Vito Gesualdi's website. However, there is no mention of attending UMass Amherst.

Based on the dates on other items of the excerpt, this information has to have come from a resume dating sometime after October 2014. There is an overlap of entries from this excerpt and the resumes archived on Chris Vito Gesualdi's website, which makes it seem like this must be the right Vito Gesualdi.
