From the second or third screenshot Comcast Tard posted, there are two tickets that were opened from retention. One on 8/03 and a follow-up on 8/23, retention is the department you're transferred to when you're angry and want to cancel your services, they try their best to keep you as a customer (obviously) including giving you discounts on shit. What was happening in early August, you ask? Ah, well...

Another thing I noticed is from the support ticket the tard posted. There a line in there, that I at first mistakenly took to mean he was still going to get charged for his rented Comcast modem/router despite having his own setup, however it is not. Dave is no longer using the static IPs he has paid monthly for and will still pay monthly for. As Comcast will not setup your statics on a customer owned device, they like to be pretty vague if it is even possible (It is, but requires effort and knowledge). This could also reference his 4G backup device, but I cannot confirm if that is built into the Comcast modem/router or a separate piece of kit. From what I understand, you are required to have the Comcast owned modem/router to have this feature, but you also pay a separate equipment fee (and 29.99 more a month, of course). He could also have this 4G modem backup on his downstairs internet line and not the one he uses for his actual "business".
