If a gram gives 25 doses then he had 26.67*25=666.75 doses worth of coke.
lol nobody is getting 25 doses out of a gram, especially someone using as much as Nick. .1 is closer to average, and I'd be willing to bet he was doing 2 lines at a time, so probably 5-10 doses per g.
IMO, Nick is probably the person in his circle with the most money, meaning he can procure volume at a better price and pass that along to his friends/whores. This is why he had the scales and bags - I don't think he was dealing in a traditional sense, but I bet he was the source for his friends. This will fuck him, as dealing, especially in the proximity of kids, is free candy for prosecutors.
My 2c prediction: people are too optimistic on his charges, but I agree he will likely fail probation. Someone in this deep to the level of their house being in disarray and thinking they have the facilities to represent themselves in court are not in the place to change their life. The cliche is true, you have to admit you have a problem first and I guarantee Nick is blaming everyone and everything but himself and his actions right now. Until he accepts that, there is no redemption.
It's incredibly sad to see, but I have heard stories in AA from people who were lower than Nick and rose above it. A good program, a social net, and sobriety go a long way. We will only see this when Nick is ready for it though and we're still far away IMO. My prayers are with his kids right now, I can only imagine how much it pained that pastor to make that report.
One last thing: Believers don't usually involve outside parties (police) in conflicts like this unless absolutely needed, and I'd be willing to put money down that there was at least one, if not several interventions by his Church before the pastor felt compelled to involve authorities. This would have been group decision, at least from church admins, after other options were exhausted.
In other words, this has likely been going on for a long time and the pastor felt he was out of options, after likely already having multiple talks/discussions with Nick and his family.
All just my 2c though.
