I hate to appear to be cuntguarding, but if Kayla appears to be putting in even moderate effort at not being a horrible crackhead whore murdermom, she probably gets custody over an arrogant, demonic Nick who believes he's done nothing wrong and that it's totally okay to have coke and guns and kids.
She can totally divorce rape him if she chooses that route, and imo she should.
I feel like one would have to have a shred of optimism left for poor old Nick to view Kayla as less or equal seeing as her husband is the most obvious victim to have ever existed on the face of the planet. Boo hoo hooooooo.
Nick has likely been far more terrible than we could ever know, because of course, he's the true victim in all of this and has been seriously wronged in every possible way. Kayla is 100,000% responsible for enabling the abusive situation per her kids, her mishandling of the home and she's clearly let her demons run amok over her family, but I somehow doubt that she comes out of a divorce situation fairing just as bad as our dear poor Balldo, who clearly is deserving of our biggest and most sincere pities.
Pray for Nick, while Kayla empties out a magazine to any stragglers that still remain from his once brave legacy. Sigh. Kayla, if you're reading this, you have an advantage in April in that you have the chance for the last say. Send them both on their way and watch them feed off of one another's misery while they each respectively self-implode. April may be younger and cuter, but I highly doubt she carries off as more sympathetic in the public eye, especially once the coke erodes away what's left of such "beauty". I actually would prefer to see April gains some sense before it's too late, because she still has a chance to avoid her fate and learn. It's just so unlikely, because well...
IQ levels matter.
As to Aaron... my opinion can be changed here but if he is responsible for anything, it's for allowing his Dear Wife to get into a bind far greater than her mental and moral depth. He often sounds like he's wrangling with a demonic version of a white knight mentality and that led him to falsely believing he could save people from themselves in a pinch. No, one cannot, Aaron. People are highly fallible and there's a reason the scriptures have survived the passage of time. April is no longer a child, but that's also why we shouldn't be in the business of enabling our loved one's worst proclivities, much less helping them to escape consequences to boost our own image issues, when they clearly have been wrong.
