I find it adorable how they're talking in Ukranian, all because none of these chucklefucks know English and they cannot speak in Russian because "Reee!!! Russia baaad!!!", also Im least 80% sure half those descriptions of items are from the older STALKER games or have been done with spelling mistakes...oh and the swamp level again seems like its fake, cause the of dogs enemy and you can tell the stuff in the distance is just mat painting.

You could’ve argued that it wasn’t cool that they removed the Russian translation, and as a Russian speaker I agree, but I also understand why because they’re literally at war with Russia. That’s the worst PR move you can make.
While they aren’t necessarily mutually intelligible, it won’t be hard for a Russian to learn Ukrainian at all, and im sure fan translations will come out for Russia

Avoiding the game because it's 100% going to be a buggy mess out of the gate (I still remember the pain of day 1 STALKER), and I can't be bothered to deal with the politics and shit show that are going to be shoved in the game. If I wanted ukr propoganda I'd turn on the TV. It's hilarious since Roadside Picnic and the stalker movie were literally Russian creations.
Anyway, I've been to Chernobyl (spelt in English correctly) myself and it was a good day out and a fun experience.

It's set in the aftermath of the Chernobyl accident, which occurred during the Soviet era in which Ukraine was a member state and most people in the region spoke Russian and were members of the USSR. Not only that, but in the story of the game world, the exclusion zone was occupied by the Russian military and populated by Russian scientists to further study the zone and its effects. The military factions you encounter (aside from Freedom) are Russian, not Ukrainian.

The C-Consciousness was built by and comprises Russian scientists. The researchers you encounter in-game studying the zone, working against the Brain Scorcher, etc., are Russian.

Unless they're gutting and replacing the backstory (which it sounds like they are, since they've removed the Russian language in a bout of pettiness), it makes sense for the most common spoken language there to be Russian.

The gameplay trailer, while seeming to address concerns I have about gunplay in earlier question, brought new ones which is obvious to you all. The bar scene really showed the UE5 sheen. Those UI/UX design choices are atrocious and I really hope you can turn those elements off once the game is out.

Maybe I'm just a retarded normie but the atmosphere seems pretty good to me. Especially during the rainstorms and night time. I'm still cautiously optimistic that the game will be decent. However the UI design sucks absolute ass, guess it's a good thing I typically turn off as much of the UI as I can when I play these games.

Most of those russian gamers in the late 2000's tried acting like it was their game when it was made by a neighbouring nation. 2013-14 happened and now GSC just like other Ukrainians don't want to be cucked by Russia anymore. you are still somewhat right, they spearheaded the early modding community and are still a significant part. It's not enough for me to care so much where I cry for hundreds of posts about a language of an opposing nation not being included.

No Russian gamers acted like the game was there or tried to claim it as such, but they were responsible for it's popularity because it was aimed at the Eastern European crowd, hell the game sold WAY more copies in Russia than it did in the West. Ye, half those places (outside anyway, then again even the inside locations look fake) still look like they just made shit on the fly for the trailers, mostly because of how the trees in the back aren't moved by the wind, the odd falling of the rain animation. Also, every time they showed scenes of STALKERs, I swear it looks like someone animated it in SFM or Blender.
