Phil losing viewers isn't suprising.

He changed his content style completely after going on KC to play to this new audience. This new drama farming style alienated his old fans and now his new fans are leaving because the old Phil is coming back and they realised phil is a boring begging cunt.

He's alienated both sets of fans, it was inevitable.

Even if that happened, YouTube will demand a fair amount of reports, quantity here matters. How much that generally is would probably require some testing and trial & error, so I'm not sure right now.

His old channel actually has content that violates TOS, but the platform has done nothing against it.

There is no chance, whatsoever, that DSP's main channel has received less than 100k reports at this point in time. Just based upon the insane number of uploads, how long his channel has existed before you even get to his "fandom" (detractors) he must get like 30-40 reports a day on the slowest days. There have probably been days where he just said something controversial (and not actually against the TOS) and it resulted in several hundred or even thousand reports at one time. There are also probably dedicated "detractors" who sit there reporting every single prestream/beg as "scamming" or "feigning distress" (this means they sit there filing multiple reports, 6 days a week, every week of the year).

I mean hate on DSP all you want and maybe there is some stuff of his that does actually skirt around the TOS or even violates it he is nowhere close to being anywhere even in the same ballpark as people who do actually break the rules. There is much worse shit than DSP's channel on YouTube and there are much worse people than DSP around.

There is no magical threshold of reports that would result in his channel getting banned because he passed that shit long, long ago. It's also the same reason why no one even really cares about him in the grand scheme of things and he rarely gets coverage outside of "detractors" - the volume and scale of reports (meaning both reports to YouTube/Twitter/etc about his accounts as well as people pointing out bad stuff he does to others) means that no one cares. There have been those few times he said something that sounded like the n-word on Twitch and got temp banned and some copyright related stuff, but in YouTube-land DSP is probably basically untouchable at this point in time.

He has received strikes though, this much is known, because when he unprivated all his videos once someone found the jackoff stream and reported him for it and he got a strike over it.

Reminds me of what happened with John Rambo after DSP moved to Washington. He kept harassing [Drunk texting] John to make content and John slowly tried to distance himself by saying he was busy.

And even getting calls from Phil at 5-6AM John's time. Which I always stand by that point: Phil had NO business moving to Washington. He didn't have a job out there, he only heard about Washington State from Harriet - the dead aunt that Phil inherited gout from - because she lived out there. She was an estranged aunt to the family, keep that in mind. The only other person that lived on the West Coast, according to Phil, was his dad's brother or uncle - it's one of the two...but, he lived in Arizona and the reason no one talked to him was because he got in trouble with the law. Everyone else either lived in Florida or around New England.

I know he always bitched about the winter and shoveling snow. Phil left because Phil wanted to leave, for reasons that only made sense to Phil. I do remember Harriet telling Phil that Washington has a lot of trees and a lot of natural beauty, but he doesn't go outside and do any of that. He stays in his mature adult house, LARP's as an adult, and thinks he's the greatest thing since the term "Let's play!" was once said on a internet board back in the prehistoric days of the internet. Phil will tell you that he came up with that term - sure, Phil and I'm Jeff Bezos.

Last week I was watching a few Boulder Punch videos where he was shitting on DSP and just new Im watching a Veilguard video from a small time tuber and she brings up the time DSP was on a Sony presentation and says how said that devs nowadays try to cater to dumb fucks with rotten brain like DSP. Here is the clip, starts at 8:12 if mark is not working.

God I wish Phil would have actually gone through with the DSPolitics channel.

The video he attached is fucking great. If DSP unironically embodied this kind of attitude as his politics persona (basically just be himself before he started livestreaming) it would be fucking awesome.

Remember, he's not smart in general, and definitely not smart enough to know where that line is.

Now, I also don't think he'd be smart enough to capitalize on such a thing, but Phil is very very easily swayed. There's a non zero chance this happens too, since it is Phil we're talking about.

I don't see him doing much besides milquetoast takes on shit. He may say some edgy shit but in terms of taking hardline stances on anything? I fucking doubt it.

One thing is for certain though, if he does this well there will be mountains of clippable moments and DSP will become even more infamous on the internet. The idea of normies who have never been exposed to him before potentially coming across him and doing a deep dive because he's talking about something that is more generally interesting than just gayming is going to be hilarious. It'll be like when his colonel sanders cosplay ended up with him being used as meme by the fucking KFC south america twitter account.

I do hope he also takes it as a chance to be a guest as well as have guests that are outside of his comfort zone, that kind of thing can only be good for DSP in the long term (I mean this in terms of him improving himself - whether or not he can actually improve is obviously up for debate, but him talking to people outside of his little personal soapbox will mean he has to face people and their ideas that he has never dealt with before, besides by banning them from his channel).

btw, whatever happened to people just commenting on his shit with "okay". that was a meme for a while because of how ban-happy he was and his instagram was filled with "okay" comments. It was pretty great.

Hmm, its been a while but I think he reacted to it. I think he said its a good thing and didnt understand why people have problem with it. Then chatters started to say things like he is ruining gaming and he became toxic AF. Im not 100% sure, someone else remember?

he was extremely pissed at them back then when it happened and he is still extremely pissed at them nowadays (though he is trying to copespin it into being "meaningful"). back then he complained that they didn't ask for his permission, they broke the law, blabla.
the most recent example was a few months ago when Joon highlighted it in his doc on DSP.
