His small following is product of changing his name every month and not streaming what people want, namely speedrunning. Whoever got the memo about the name change saw a disgusting ghoul crying and farting and sleeping and left.
 
I recently watched the "Running with Speed" documentary available on Amazon Prime and I must say, it divulges a pretty earth shattering truth that adds another variable to the trooning out timeline. Cosmo has always stated he graduated with a 4 year degree and that's what's been stated elsewhere online (including his Wikipedia). We know his parents went into debt they could never come out of in order for Cosmo to go to this graphic design program in Chicago, but for whatever reason I never bought the fact that Cosmo graduate. Well, turns out, he didn't. Apparently around the time of the Nintendo World Championships (and the epic loss to John FUCKING Numbers), Cosmo WITHDREW from the program (didn't graduate). For anyone looking to fact check me on this, go to timestamp 2:01:52. The narrator states, and I quote:

"Around this time Narcissa had withdrawn from a graphic design program at a college in Chicago and was making a living streaming full-time."

Isaac himself has been a pretty crazy lolcow as of late, streaming a lot of suicide and now self-harm (cutting) threats. Is there anyone involved in this whole speedrunning thing that is even remotely normal/sane? It seems like so many are absolutely nuts. You have Cosmo, Isaac, Whispie, Protomagicalgirl, Claris, Cyberdemon531 and Dgurl. Anyhoo I figured you guys would appreciate the new info on Cosmo dropping out of his program.

GDQ fell apart bandage by bandage a long time ago. Last I read/heard about GDQ stuff all the organizers were still just petty power-hungry cretin. It really turned from being all about raising money for actual organizations like Doctors Without Borders but it quickly just turned into a "safe space gathering".

As soon as the old owner of GDQ sold it to a corporate entity, it's not about speed running. No, it's about pronouns, rules that you cannot trigger anyone or you'll be banned for life, and from what I heard, dilation breaks...aka. dilation done quick.
 
IIRC Doctors Without Borders spends money on importing those pesky infinite war refugees, too.
 
Smaller events are much better. For example Kaizo Colosseum. But they still don't get that GDQ vibe for me. There was something "fun" and lighthearted about the old GDQ's. Just some guys playing videogames fast and take donations for a good cause. That's it. I doubt we'll see an event like that again. Would be cool though.

I don't even mind the transgender stuff or to keep it a "safe space" in the sense that everybody is allowed to join and there is a sort of basic decency. Let's be real a lot of gamers are outcasts whether it's autism, transgenders, furry's, brony's, gymcels, etc. I've seen it all in the gamer sphere. So why not make an event that gives these people a fun place/event to go to.

I don't think the idea of GDQ being "pro-transgender" was purely politics or even because it became bigger. Like I said the gamer sphere is full with outcasts. Always been that way. They just became more outwardly aggressive with it, which I can understand put some people off. It's not the same event anymore, plain and simple. It's a different beast. But the roots are still there obviously.

It would be nice to see a smaller event like old GDQ sprout and get some momentum but not too much or it will also blow up and become bloated lol. Just more funny and happy go lucky vs. a corporate event like GDQ is now.

I guess ESA is like that a bit. But it lacks the casualness.

It was a product of the times. """Content creation""" wasn't a viable career path back then, let alone gaming. Esports wasn't really a thing, Let's Plays weren't really a thing, streaming wasn't really a thing -- they existed but they were novelties, not the massive industries they are now. Hell, the first couple predate Twitch, it was still justin.tv back then. Point being, gamers were losers. Playing video games past childhood was unequivocally seen as a waste of time, you were wasting your time doing this stuff. So the idea that a bunch of nerd losers who were ostensibly doing nothing of value could come together and raise even $10k for charity was both noteworthy and wholesome. There was no pressure because there was no expectation, because there was no precedent. Nowadays you have dozens of """gamers""" who make that much in an afternoon, and GDQ has to compete with them for attention, while also castrating itself for sponsors, to say nothing of the woke shit.

It's kind of like gamer Woodstock in a way. It can never be done again, not because you couldn't recreate the experience or the atmosphere, but simply because it wouldn't have the same novelty and significance that it did in the beginning. You can't break the same ground twice.

On the surface maybe, but I don't know bro, 80000 attempts at speedrunning Ninja Gaiden seems excessive (if true)


For a half decent speed runner, the game takes about half an hour to complete. If we take the best case scenario and we assume that he screws up the run 1 minute in and then restarts the game. That's at least 80,000 minutes of game time which is about 1333 hours. Restart the game after 2 minutes? That's 2666 hours. They say that you need at least 1000 hours to be competent at something so 2000+ hours means like 1 new language and 1 new music instrument. That is insane (unless my math is wrong).

On the bright side, he doesn't appear to be transition to a gay/troon cowboy.
 
I meant to say Arcus doesn't behave like a sped and has some kind of hobby unrelated to sitting on your ass before a computer screen. I used to watch his youtube for some time and literally not once saw him angry at anything, which tbh is impressive. He had tardrages on stream before but not after putting on that cowboy persona. He even jokes about it, calling his past self "Orcus" and saying it's actually his evil twin.

Extremely late and gay because literally who cares but 8 months ago Cosmo did a run of Pools (an atmospheric/horror walking simulator inspired heavily by the backrooms). At the time, the game had barely been out and only one other person had run it. Unsurprisingly, he achieved 1st place with a time of 40 minutes and 21 seconds. As of writing this he sits at 6th out of 11th place, with no other times submitted. This is the only run to Speedrun.com Cosmo has submitted since his Forspoken stint about a year ago.

On the subject of his much newer Goldeneye run, achieving top time in a run when it turns out you're sharing the trophy with 40 other people doesn't quite hit like it should, huh? Whatever, a win is a win, I suppose.

I don't know Cosmo's politics (but I can guess) but he was pretty soft on Elon considering everything that's happened in the past year.

When they Got dilation rooms i taped out, i didnt even want to see the speedruns i wanted to watch at all due to shit like this happening
