It is with great pain that I bring the news that some people are thirsty for the Grub Hub mom.

Can this trend of twerking in children’s cartoons fucking die already? I did not need to see this blob lady throwing it back in her daughter’s face!
That has to be the least hot mom I've ever seen. If you're going to be a gooner at least have standards. It is with great pain that I bring the news that some people are thirsty for the Grub Hub mom.

this is the western animation industry there are no standards anymoreThat has to be the least hot mom I've ever seen. If you're going to be a gooner at least have standards.
The whole point of gooners is that by definition, they don't. Or actually, they take low standards to such an extreme that they can only get off to things that would make even semi-ordinary coomers vomit. That has to be the least hot mom I've ever seen. Found one of my old posts and man almost everything aged well. Really the only thing I was wrong about is Norman being bad since I think the guy who voiced him did a fantastic job, and may be the one black guy who can pull off a Green Goblin, but the relationship was still ass since Norman pretty much stopped Doctor Octopus by calling the feds on him and Peter didn't make his own suit once. Not a fan of this
The animation looks awful
The fact it has other superheros prominent is a problem to me
And the whole thing where Norman and Peter's relationship is just like the MCU Peter and Tony relationship (except when Norman inevitably becomes evil) is just annoying.
At this point, Disney should just look at the two good Spider-Man shows they have and just give it a continuation instead of forcing Spider-Man in shows that interact with the wider Marvel universe.
Yes it was that bad. Ironically this show could've maybe had a better chance if it was not being bankrolled by Crunchyroll who prior to having originals kept boasting about how supporting Cruchyroll is the only way to save the anime industry, and it ended up making High Guardian Spice which should be on like another streaming platform.Oh sweet baby Jesus we are not doing this.

If you have to say “Oh, was [shitty media] REALLY that bad?”, the answer is yes more often than not.
A bit late with the reply, but i think that might be one of the key factors when it comes to anime's success in the west.Playing a story straight has become a novelty. The problem is writers dont understand making the fact that an unusual situation is played straight can be entertaining or more hilarious than an overdone quipfest.
I would recommend Venture Bros as one of the only great Western series which plays things straight, and it is incredible. While the first season largely sticks to straight up Johnny Quest pastiche, it eventually figures out the idea of how an actual superhero/supervillain society works in the modern day is a fascinating subject to dive into, and does so to very fun effect. No matter how silly the trope (ex: Jojo's Bizarre Adventure), even in more comical series there's a surprising amount of them that are willing to play their story very straight and it can work surprisingly well in some cases.
I occasionally obsess over how boringly bad this show was whenever the usual "Oh it's not THAT bad" crowd starts speaking up, and while it can have some charming aspects, it's way, way worse than "that bad" by virtue of being boring.Oh sweet baby Jesus we are not doing this.

Wow I was actually impressed by this. I like the writing, the dialogue is well done and the premise is actually pretty interesting too.Common Side Effects is over halfway through its first season as of writing this, and you should go see it if you haven't already. The writing is tight, not a single wasted second. The body language and dialogue are very natural, which sells the realistic conflicts really well. Here's the first episode if you're not convinced.
That seams to be the law in adult western animation. It has to be ugly so to make more "mature".Wow I was actually impressed by this. I like the writing, the dialogue is well done and the premise is actually pretty interesting too.
But for fuck sake why do they make the fuckin' characters look so ugly dude?
I love it too but it's a blessing in disguise that it didn't get too popular. That show never gets thelovewide recognition it deserves
With an avatar image like that, maybe the tranime pedo should watch his mouth.
I've watched up to season 3. Personally felt like there was a general slide in quality as the show kept going. I feel no desire to watch season 4 to see how low things get.Ps. How did Wakfu implode? Didn't hear anything about that.

The whole "capitalism bad" message also fails when you are aware that the animators/screen writers etc. are making this show to turn in a profit for the corporation they are working for while going to the local corporate runt Starbucks/fast food for lunch.Just finished watching this. A very solid episode and a great premise. Though, wish they were more subtle on the "capitalism/corporation BAD" mantra. It can work, though. It just don't need to be in your face. It's true of what the dude says about pharma's but I feel it's much more impactful when we're shown what they're doing and not being told of it. Being told of it feels like being lectured, and I don't want to be lectured about something people have already yammered about a thousand times.
Other than that, I loved it. Feels great to watch an adult animation feel adult for once. I especially loved the dialogue. Again, just wish they did a bit more show than tell with the whole message they're going for.
