Supposedly it's from a member of staff at an ambulance station claiming they've been order not to blue light for babies, children and teenagers experiencing breathing difficulties and to tell the family to manage the symptoms from home from tomorrow.

There is a video posted in this thread showing a Japanese study of how the aerosolized particles travel. It's a lot farther that I would have thought, since I thought anything having saliva attached to it would have enough weight for gravity to bring it down somewhat quickly. That wasn't the case. It did depend on being in a still (slowly moving or non moving air) closed room.

I tried search but can't come up with the words that will bring it up.

A good part of it will be weight, high blood pressure and poverty. But it’s possibly there’s a genetic influence on susceptibility. People living in poverty are hit harder by most diseases. I find it interesting that we are strongly discouraged from looking at poverty unless it’s through a lens of intersectionality. It’s much more uncomfortable (and much more valuable) to look at why people are poor, than be on about it simply being racism. Screaming white supremacy doesn’t solve anything, but looking at poverty is important.

Yeah you burgerlanders REALLY ought to work on refitting your farms for healther stuff. Over here since so many of our farms are for fruit and veg we can keep that shit cheap but over there most of your farms are carbohidrate hell, no way to keep your poor healthy that way. As some of you know, Sweden has been pretty lax with restrictions and lockdowns, we'll see how this situation develops, but it's not looking good for them.

I'd bet money on the fact that countries without lockdowns will have more severe outbreaks. And in a sense when you lockdown you are betting money on that - a lot of money in fact because lockdowns will absolutely ruin the economy.

I could be wrong of course. We'll need to wait a week or two to see decisive evidence that lockdowns make a positive difference.

La bodega es una tienda o almacen, It's a warehouse, of FOOD. Spanish in the Americas isn't modern Spanish and while some places that had recent, significant immigration from Spain do speak Spanish that closely resembles what you speak, it's still a bit old-fashioned. The matriarch downstairs whose parents went to Puerto Rico and then the US speaks Gallego and took me a while to figure out it's a dialect closely related to Portuguese. So with her I speak a hybrid Spanish/Portuguese. I haven't visited her recently (I usually bring her something from the farmer's market when I go but I don't want to give her the coof because she's in her nineties).
