I think most businesses don't like creepy homeless guys hanging around making videos. Hopefully it gets shared with the management what kind of person Lucas is, and how he isn't worth the potential harm to the brand when he barely has any money to gamble away, despite how easy he would be to con out of all his welfare

I'm going to power level a bit and copy and paste what I had to say about the casino video in SOFALAW:

Lucas will not last long at that casino before being banned, and here's how I know (from my 3 years working in one, as security and surveillance):

1. Casinos hate people who wander around their floor without gambling, especially if they partake of free drinks (which we know Lucas would).

2. Casinos hate homeless people, because homeless people are antithetical to the high class, worry free environment that casinos sell.

3. Casinos REALLY fucking hate people who record videos on the gambling floor, especially if slot machines or games are in view.

Lucas is hitting the trifecta with his behavior. I guarantee that surveillance is keeping an eye on him, and if he visits more than once or twice more he'll be kicked off property. If he comes back he'll be evicted, and if he's evicted then he will be arrested for trespassing if he shows up again.

Everything Lucas does is stupid, which is why he's homeless again, and if by a miracle he gets housing again, it'll only be a matter of time before he is homeless a third time.

Lucas should have got $1200 in Trumpbux, so it might be that if he bothered to get it.

EBT funds are not allowed to be spent on other people. I highly doubt Lucas would get busted for admitting this, but it's still dumb. Admitting to how much money he's saving is really stupid, and can lead to him losing SSI.

You really don't want your minimum wage to be $15. It's done nothing but ruin places that have raised their minimum wage too high without any form of protections on pricing food and bills.

The big ones do sometimes, but smaller operations like the one I worked at and the one in Spokane won't. Las Vegas also runs a few games where the odds are slightly in the player's favor, in order to entice the rubes and get them hooked, which smaller locations can't afford to do.

I've never been to casino that had free anything up here, even in the larger cities. I always thought that was a Las Vegas thing because they can afford it. Lucas may be a nutjob but he still has the ability to understand context. He is speaking calm and quietly because he is in a shopping mall or similar public space so he knows not to bring attention to himself. When he is on the street by himself he knows he is free to rant, until there are others around, then he throws his jacket over his head. He hasn’t lost that inner censor or situational awareness. He understands what is acceptable and not acceptable in social contexts. I’m interested in when Lucas either loses this ability or decides to override it. That is when the real predatory behavior will break out.

He shuts up because, although he doesn't see anything he says or does as being a problem or a bad thing, he knows he'll get yelled at, insulted, threatened and eventually jailed or committed again if he isn't careful about what he says and where he says it. He doesn't understand why that is in context - the context being that he is batshit mental. He thinks its because everyone is out to get him, that they are all his rivals and enemies that are looking for any reason to stop him from getting a teen girl and everything else he 'deserves'

To put it simply, he is looking at the situation and drawing entirely different and nonsensical conclusions from what a normal person would in the same context. The way he deals with it just happens to be the same way a normal person would - by shutting up around anyone he considers a potential threat

That said, you're right, he will eventually either override it out of desperation or from mental degeneracy. Its part of his established pattern thats been going on his entire adult life. It happened many times before and will continue to do so

Perhaps. It does seem to me like he still has that inner voice that tells him right from wrong or how to act in situations, even if it’s muted at times. And I don’t think it‘s based on a moral “right or wrong”, it’s knowing the consequences if he gets out of line.

You're partially right. In my experience, they'll follow an escalation of force model. First a security officer will be dispatched to tell him to GTFO, and will proceed to escort him off property for loitering. If he comes back, they'll ask him to come back into the security office and formally evict him there, complete with a mugshot and paperwork that he'll be asked to sign.

If he refuses to go into the security office and just leaves, then he'll be verbally evicted and security will ask Surveillance to get as good a shot of his face as they can (and they can usually get really good face shots. I was personally pretty versed in doing so. It's frightening what a casino camera can see if they decide to zoom in on you).

Either way, if he ever comes back for any reason and is recognized as a property evict, then he'll get nailed for criminal trespass. In my state it's a misdemeanor and he'd be issued a summons for arraignment, after which he'll be released and escorted off property again.

If he comes back after his court date has passed and there's a warrant out for his arrest (because we know Wern sucks at court appearances), then he'll be perp walked to a squad car once he's caught and taken to jail.

State laws and the level of cooperation between the casino and law enforcement will change the details, of course, but what I just described is how 99 percent of the homeless evictions we dealt with were handled.

There was actually one guy who was a serial trespasser, but he was legit schizo and didn't understand what he was doing wrong. He sometimes thought he was an FBI agent, other times thought he was an airline pilot, things like that. He only went to jail once or twice, out of about a dozen trespassing arrests by the state troopers. They only took trespassers straight to jail if they were caught with drugs or other contraband, or had warrants, or were on a parole violation.
