-Finally, they're gonna try and start their volunteer program, with the idea being that volunteers will stay there for up to months at a time. Noteworthy detail being that they have to bring their own food for all the time they're staying there.
It seems like they are going for a cross between WWOOF and the Rubber Rose Ranch from Even Cowgirls Get the Blues, but the inevitable result is more like a trans conversion bootcamp/gulag.
I do genuinely have a question directed at our more agrarian Kiwis though: is it normal to feed volunteers in these situations?
Yes. Even the dirtiest organic hippie farmers will feed you for your labor. You might have to piss in an outhouse or even a bucket, but food will be on offer.
Not to mention actually building a greenhouse out of glass is damn expensive, hence why people around here (Cheeki Breeki Central Europe) usually build them out of transparent heavy foil.
Polytunnels are relatively cheap, durable and effective. Kit them out with germination tables made out of pallets and you can have quite the nice cost-effective grow setup. I just want to see what happens when their plants fail due to the myriad ways the trancheros will screw up. Will it be because the plant allies were transphobic?

That's the most retarded thing I have ever heard. Nobody will take any significant amount of time off school or work to work for free on a farm in the middle of nowhere while having to pay for their food. Especially not if they get to sleep in tents while there.
My guess is their preferred "volunteer" model is strong, independently wealthy transwomen who have their own RVs and their own storage/cookware/facilities, but just want to support the cause out of the goodness of their hearts (because as we all know trans people are known for their selflessness /sneed). Actually I wanna say they DID have someone with an RV out there for a time but that person has since left?

But of course I'm sure the majority of people who claim to be interested in the Tranch are worthless Kevin types who dont realize volunteering on a farm means.... working on that farm. And so the cycle continues.

They'll just end up with more mouths to feed and more whining amholes to deal with.

It's a combination of the angle, lighting, and facial expression. I still see the man jaw.

But yes, the hairline is getting significantly worse. In that regard, it's a combination of age, an awful haircut, and how Kevin most likely bothered washing his hair frequently in his early transition and then slowly stopped caring, if his past hygiene and current habit of abandoning responsibilities such as dilation are a demonstration of his personal routines.

"If you think we neglect our animals, you should just give us money" is certainly an interesting counter.
He would look better (well, less worse) if he just shaved it like his fellow glabrous troon James/Emmy Zie. He at least looks less masculine when you can't actually see the pattern of his hair loss. He could be like Salvia or that non-binary dude who shaves his head and uses drag makeup and make themselves look so alien that you can't immediately tell their sex (until they open their mouths or you spend a couple of seconds watching them), they look better in photos at least.

One year we tried to grow hemp instead of alfalfa for roughage. The stuff grew amazingly, but we spent weeks have the chopper jam up try to cut the stuff, no matter how long it dried it was like chopping ropes. We swore to never grow the stuff again because of the tremendous pain in the ass taking the stuff off.

I don't know why the tranch would want to grow the stuff, obviously they would have to take it in by hand, and hay forage is much more realistic. There is a fair amount of 50%hemp 50%aplaca wool textiles so maybe that is the plan. In total though I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to grow it because of how queer hemp is.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that 'hemp' is codeword for (stink)ditch weed.

But I was told that each pampered alpaca has food, a sweater, and .2 acres of frozen wasteland?
Nigga I ain't rewarding you for being a retard who abuses their animals.
What?

EBT is meant to provide people with what they need to survive. It is not designed for welfare queens to buy organic goods.
It's not like you to actually have faith in people.

I really want to sperg about farming and homesteading but this isnt really the thread and trannysdontcurr so I'll just say the first two steps to righting the sinking ship that is the tranch is rehoming at least half of the pacas and rehoming kevin and his toys. Bare minimum

I have faith in the concept of the welfare state. I have nothing but disdain for how it's turned out.
Same. I think it's more important for it to err on the side of helping people in genuine need, than on the side of restricting it to stop a few grifters from gaming it, but that doesn't mean I won't laugh at said grifters.

People often conflate being realistic with how badly our politicians handle welfare with resistance to the entire concept. Same with public health; just look at how New York State set up their public health market to let the insurance industry slide its tentacles in deeper.

Much of, and I'd wager most, of the pushback in the USA against social policy comes from 100% justified distrust we have for the people who'd be enacting it. Known, proven fuckheads who shouldn't be trusted with anything.

Indeed. I support universal healthcare, but given how our politicians handle the NHS I can see why there's a lot of apathy towards M4A.

Yes. In my city, and in other cities, it is absolutely a thing to allow SNAP, WIC, and EBT at farmers markets. Because something, something, something, muh food deserts--even though every gas station in my city (and the neighboring ones) sells fresh fruit and sometimes veggies in spring and summer--no one buys them though. And I know of several bodegas in the south side of Chicongo and all over Cicero sells (drumroll) fresh fruit and veggies as well as basic WIC allowable items (WIC is more stringent on what you are allowed to purchase as opposed to Illinois LINK).
And for da kidzzzzz, my city's public school district provides (I shit you not) free breakfast, lunch, dinner, annnndddd snacks as well as free full backpacks of school supplies and free breakfast and lunches all through summer vacation and during coof lockdowns.
So while I realize I'm MOTI, I am not exaggerating. And because of social media hugboxes where other lazy asses can find and validate each other, you, taxpayer, need to zip your lip and save up for them taxes.

Best believe the tranch is exactly the same flavor of lazy and shiftless.

Thinking of Kevin and tattoos just makes me think of that scene in "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo".
When I look at the way Kevin Gibes talks about women I find myself thinking that Anita Sarkeesian, for all her faults, might well have a point about the male gaze.
Forget Sarkeesian. This loathsome ogre makes me think that Valerie Solanas was right.
A lot of us sigh and roll our eyes in exasperation because we are TIRED of seeing people--PARTICULARLY WOMEN--with visible tattoos,
Oh don't worry, Kevin's not a woman.

Here in Bongland the same people that complain about food deserts ignore the fact that corner shops sell fruit and vegetables.

The argument would be that the selection, price, and quality of the produce available at a convenience store is going to be categorically inferior to that at a market, be it farmer's or super. I'm sure this is true in some cases, but like everything else it gets used as a cudgel to beat down disagreements rather than considered as one of many factors.

I've personally seen the benefit of EBT for farmer's markets in the vein of fresh produce. Where I step off the train is when they start using their cards for the bison steaks and 10 dollar jars of honey. But it can be good for small farmers and good for the general supply of produce in the most heavily urban areas throughout the week. Just don't let them spend it on nonsense.

Some people whinge so hard about the poor, they find it distasteful that anyone should have to go without luxuries, or even save their real currency for them because the GovBux can only buy essentials. Unsurprisingly it is usually very cozy people who have never really had to reduce their own lifestyles, even if it means being pathetic human leeches, utterly helpless and entitled to everything. Someone like the Tranch's Beggar in Chief.

If EBT allowed you to buy vast quantities of luxury foods for free and was easy to sign up for and exploit, Kevin and the Tranchers would be all over that shit. That way the hot pockets budget could go towards more toys.
They're all like this too, not just Kevin. If they were serious about transphobic-hillbilly-proofing the Tranch, they'd buy a bunch of cheap, simple, unfuckable guns. Pump action shotguns and 9mm Hi-Points for any of the more dainty troons, just to say. Instead, Penny has a Ruger 57 and, if I recall right, a Ruger Precision. That's at least $2400 blown on his own LARP props.

Everything they do is just to stroke their egos. If an AGP isn't stroking his girldick or what cursed ruins remain, he's stroking his ego.

Bollocks.

Fresh fruit from Mr Patel's is just as healthy as fresh fruit from Whole Foods. It's ridiculous how people will go to any length to deny that personal responsibility exists.

I'm generally inclined to agree, and Whole Foods is definitely completely out of the picture here. 8 dollar grass water fuck off. But the quality and especially the selection of small convenience and bodega type stores is pretty variable depending on where you are and where your day takes you. Some are great, some are pretty crappy. So that open air farmer's market by a big transit hub once or twice a week can mean the difference between having the same apple, orange, or banana every day, and having access to grapefruits and plantains or whatever for not much more. That extra variability in your diet can be what saves you from getting a bacon egg and cheese for 7 dollars because you feel like it.

It has its uses if you don't make it retarded, is my only point.

Here in Bongland corner shops do sell plantains, and they're a lot cheaper than what you can buy at farmers' markets run for the benefit of middle-class white people with more money than sense.

I hope his tattoos are gaudy and tacky and mostly consumerist garbage. Maybe an MLP/transformers crossover for maximum tackyiness?
Coming in hot and intimidating a community of people that could help you make something of your ranch, then crying transphobia? :story:
You know, it struck me: do any of these chuds have farmer friends? It's not like there aren't any lbgt+ farmers out there, maybe not in their area but on the web. Lesbians are famous for enjoying the great outdoors. Why haven't they joined a site for lbgt friendly farming and gardening so they can at least run their fucking stupid ideas past someone with experience? They would be a lot gentler and very accepting unlike us.

Of course I say LBGT farmers because Pennis and his squad get ultra defensive at conservatism. There might be an offhand mention of it on a farming site and the troons would see it as them flying the nazi flag.

It's a bold strategy cotton, let's see how it works out.
