No. Coleslaw, collard greens, or cornbread would be much more normal.

He only boils hot dogs. There was some meme (I think around when Kat moved it?) that he or Kat wanted a grill and maybe they'd get it, who knows! It never came to fruition.
Just today he said he would microwave his frozen eggplant parmesan because using the oven would take too long. He's not going to pan-fry hot dogs and have to wash the pan, when he can just wash out a pot.

ETA: I don't think hot dogs and baked beans are strange. They go together as they're both summer foods, but in the context of cookouts, along with burgers and some kind of casserole or salad. I'm sure I've made baked beans as a side for hotdogs before, but wouldn't just eat dogs and beans because there's no vegetables. And this is a staple meal for DSP.

I'm not from Burger land myself, but couldn't he also just, you know, fry those hot dogs on a frying pan? He doesn't even need to use an outdoor griller, I know he's no master cook, but surely he can think of a better way to prepare them than boiling them.

You know, once again I think I'm asking to much from Phil. This is the same guy that tried to eat two minutes noodles with a spoon and throw out half of the perfectly good ground beef in a bin when it was cooked for no reason at all.

A good cast iron skillet and a little bit of butter can make a pretty decent stove-top hot dog that has a good sear to it. Of course, your choice of hot dog plays a pretty big role in the outcome. With Phil's spending habits, I'm sure he and his wife *thumbs toward door* get the most expensive ones because they are the bestest. Unless they get turkey dogs, in which case...fucking gross.

Most hot dogs are grilled. You can boil them but its usually 'fuck it its too cold/hot out' sort of thing.

I don't like scheduling meals for an entire week, but I get why people do it. He should be scheduling decent food (I would say steak but that'll hurt his foot again)

See but you didn't complain! Sure it could have been cooked a little better, but you got exactly what you wanted.

Unlike a certain someone we know around here, who's expecting 5-star meals out of frozen processed garbage and thinks a "custom" touch here and there makes it more appealing. Well the truth is, that doesn't do it for him.

If you were high when you ate them and you don't have a checkmark next to 'HOT DOGS' on your dry-erase weekly planner how do you know you even ate them?

"It's finally cool enough. We can bake. It's been like two weeks, we haven't been able to cook anything because of that heatwave we had. We were waiting, finally the house feels cool enough. We can finally start baking stuff again for dinner."
