Hell, 90% of the fandom thought that he was the real father of her baby. Also, salty that she ended up marrying a guy. :smug:
To be fair, it did seem like it was going that way until Isayama suddenly pulled a 180 on everything.

Also, people weren't mad about her marrying a guy. It was because literally nothing else was known about said guy outside of him being her childhood bully who would pelt her with rocks when she was a kid.

Lol! You haven't seen some diehard YmirxHistoria shippers.

Considering the climate today, one can't help but make the comparison. Conservatives today demonized more than they ever were and plenty of people think they should be locked away or killed.
You should try debate about conservative and other political topics with @InsolentGaylord next time, bc both of you like to insert your political beliefs on threads about anime and manga.

I stopped watching the show (let alone reading what sounds like a terrible manga) around the time everyone and their grandmother was revealed to be a titan. Way to suck all of the dramatic tension out of the entire thing. We wouldn't want things to feel too desperate or come up with clever solutions to problems now would we? Grow big, punch, haha other big guys go boom. It's clear it got too big too quickly and the guy was pulling ideas out of his ass like some kind of a shit magician.
Yea I can see that.

The first half of the first season sets up a completely different show that what it ends up being.

Good news, AoT! You're back in the top 10 best-sellers list! Bad news-you're not even at 100,000 copies. RIP.

Eren's "plan" shouldn't work though.

How it would play out, the largest nations would take out the wall of titans heading towards them and regroup/rearm while the titans take out the impoverished countries that couldn't defend. A few more airstrikes and well placed naval artilleries would keep the remaining titans at bay and land/rail weapons could dispose of them easily.

An army of beast or cart titans would be a lot more dangerous.

None of this would work. Nothing would. You don't get the scale of things here.

There are at least several hundred thousand giant titans inside the walls, quite possibly millions. Anti-Titan technology has only just recently become a big thing. There are maybe a few hundred heavy-caliber artillery pieces capable of reliably one-shotting standard-size Titans in the entire world, and only a few dozen airships. In real life there never more than a few hundred battleships afloat at any one time, far more than we ever see in the AoT universe, which is still only at early-WW1 era technology. You could assemble all of these resources in one place and they would perhaps kill... fifty to a hundred Wall Titans, then either run out of ammunition or be overrun and crushed.

Minefields wouldn't work either. You would need gigantic mines to even blow the legs off a Wall Titan, which it would promptly regenerate - Titans can regrow anything so long as their napes are intact, and on a Wall Titan, that is a weak-spot of utterly minuscule proportions no weapon in the world can reliably hit.

Even a thousand Wall Titans could reliably destroy most of the world without support. Ten thousand could accomplish the Rumbling by themselves, just relatively slowly.

If anything the dumbest thing Erin does is bring down all the Walls, an act with is explicitly stated to have killed thousands of entirely innocent Eldians from falling debris. He could easily have destroyed the world with the Titans in Wall Maria alone. Hell, he could've done it with a quarter of the Titans in Wall Maria.

The Wall Titans are an apocalyptic force. There is absolutely nothing whatsoever the nations of the world could have done to stop them, period.

People keep saying that there's going to be an anime only ending, and that the delay now proves it, and while that idea isn't entirely out of the question, I do think it is highly unlikely.

Also lmao, could you fucking imagine?

Yeah it's really unlikely since Isayama has way too much control over the anime's development. The only way it will change is if Isayama does have some regrets over how he expressed things in the ending which really won't change. At most there will be some minor tweaks to a lot of the dialogue but that's it.

Really there is no way to salvage the story as it is since so much retardation is in root like the over the top unrealistic racism that actively undermines any of the Cringevenger's efforts to save the world as well as Eren's Ledouche plan (Reminder all of this shit happened since Eren was the one who tried to make sure that war declaration happened because PATHs).

If they do go anime only, what do you think they'll do?
Honestly, I think they might go with the time-loop one.

Remember that dream Eren was having at the beginning of the series? It'd be really weird to just never bring that up again, and besides, a time-loop happening was already sort of being foreshadowed, so there might just be just enough material to scrape together an ending out of.

The only other idea that I can think of that seems remotely plausible if extremely unlikely, is the PATHs system itself just collapsing in on itself, and Eren just getting stuck.

Like I said, it's extremely unlikely, but barring an entire rewrite of the series, just having Mikasa declare her love for him, or his Titan-Cancer killing him because his time in the PATH system sped up the process, or something, those, and the ones I mentioned above are the only things I can think of.

Hilariously, the one Erenfags want to happen is the one I'm almost fucking certain won't happen. There's no way they're gonna allow an ending where Eren wins. There's just no fucking way. Especially with how bad it looks when you combine all the other Nazi/Fascist imagery and allusions this series already has. Japan might not be as political correct as the West is, but even they know how horrible an ending like that would be perceived by the rest of the world.

Yeah those could be likely if Isayama is fine with MAPPA taking an anime-original route with the ending.

The one thing Erenfags fail to grasp with the series is that Eren and Floch were never meant to be idolized and they treat them like they are the good guys. Granted it's easy to see why they could be idolized given how utterly unsympathetic the outside world is (really the story would not change at all if Eren has gone crazy and there were like a few countries genuinely sympathetic to the island). But it would be dumb to make an ending that glorifies genocide and can tarnish many people's social reputations.
