Biggest bullshit in a video game

I know of exactly two games. One is Etherlords, the other that Kingdom Hearts PSP game. Come to think of it, there's also that WoW game, but I'm not sure if that counts.
There was a game called Battleforge. You created a deck with cards and used them in a sort of RTS game. Unfortunately it was always online and you had to purchase packs with microtransactiosn. And to top it of it got shut down.

The Guiding Lands in Monster Hunter World. Boring as fuck, annoying "level one region, other region levels go down" mechanics. It's a shame that you apparently have to waste time there to get the best gear.

Beating Oxide's ghost in Dragon Mines in CTR NF. Who the fuck designed that goddamn track ? The mad fucker is always at top speed, and you have to navigate a ramp with incredibly steep turning that causes your kart to lose all its speed, and by the time you're finally done with that section the bastard is already too far ahead for you to ever catch up. And to rub salt into the wound the track has a completely useless shortcut that not only causes your kart to slow down to a slug's pace, it also squishes you flat with fucking mine carts, killing any chance you ever had of winning.

God did I rage.

Those archers ain't got nothing on those damn dogs at the Capra Demon boss. That fight can be over in less than 10 seconds if you get stun locked.
I restarted the game from scratch since I got to that fight with a purely staff-focused magic build with a backup dagger. It was next-to-impossible, especially since casting couldn't be done due to the dogs jumping you in the second the Soul Arrow takes to prepare.

That's a rough fight for a pure mage build. I found that Aural Decoy helped a lot, just aim it at far wall, it's like they're magnetized to it. Super worth doing though, a min maxed mage just melts everything.

The Baten Kaitos games for the GameCube are both card based. The first one is a janky, overdesigned mess, but the second one is actually fairly solid. I can understand if its not your thing, though.

That game as a whole is a crock of shit. You can have a perfect race, never getting hit, go over all the turbo pads, and hit the jumps perfect and still lose. The rubberbanding in that game is atrocious.

I disagree honestly. Proper use of drift-boosting renders the AI impotent, even on Hard. It's just that some Time Trials are plain unfair given how difficult their tracks are.

total warhammer, I managed to slaughter 90% of the opposition and lost about 10 men out 1000 I was outnumbered at least 2 to 1.

Verdict, slight victory to me!

oh and the balance of units was in oppositions favour

The archers on the ledge in anor londo in dark souls

Never understood why everybody has an issue with these guys. I just run up, without slowing, and run right towards them.

If you have a shield equipped and get in their face, they will switch to a sword, hit your shield, and usually knock their dumb ass off the ledge.

The biggest bullshit moment in that game was definitely Seethes the Scaleless using the cheap insta kill on you, losing all your shit in the process.

Biggest bullshit for me would have to be the fight with Nigel Bloch at the end of 007:Agent Under Fire.

This kunt has a heating seeking rocket that will hit you anywhere in the arena, so you die super quick unless you notice the grappling hook node high above so you can escape using it. Unfortunately, he never stops shooting, so you rarely live long enough to get to look for it.

The first samurai DLC for NioH 2 added a version of the final boss that happens to be wearing pants.

This version of the final boss also has the single most horribly bloated damage stats, some of the hardest to avoid basic combo patterns and one of the most aggressive AI behaviours in the game. He's a cool fight but when you have to rely on clay bells of beckoning or a helper to win the fight then something's up.

honorary mention goes to kukai, head of shingon 'at 25% hp I cannot be staggered by anything except command grabs' bhuddism.

It's been years and years since I've played it, but the whole judge system in Final Fantasy Tactics Advance only really served to be a thing where I'd forget it exists and then get nailed when I cast some spell that was arbitrarily decided to be haram for this battle. And speaking of which, locking jobs to whatever species your characters were was terrible, it felt like you were being funneled into making very particular builds, as opposed to Tactics' whole everyone-can-be-any-job thing, where you could mix and match your team and try different... you know, tactics.

I never did beat that game, I don't even think I got close. I think I was maybe 15 hours into it? And I didn't even make it much more than a couple of hours into the sequel, it was just so fucking boring.

Worse yet, when the law "No attacking shows up" and you selected a pure attack team without checking the laws or having cards to negate that law. I'd be more lenient on the system if it applied fairly to enemies as well, but if you force an enemy into a position where they have to break a law, they will only ever get yellow cards.

Well, the biggest drawback to that was it basically forced a specific party makeup. You want DPS machines? Humans with double-weapon. Ranged physical? Moogles with the gunner job. Ranged Magical? Nu mous casting flare. Healers? Bangaas are outclassed by every other race, and their only competitive skill is suicide bombing with Meltdown. Viera are equally worthless, but at least you can make them useful with the assassin class where you rely on luck for kills instead of high damage.

But still, nothing in the game can possibly beat a team of humans all equipped with double-weapon, the damage output is just unfair.
