Really I hope they use the DS2 suit system, upgrades and maximum HP carry over but suit effects remain unique to what you wear.I hope they put the tank suit in....
Who knows how Isaac talking will impact the story, but they absolutely made the right call in getting Gunner back.Doesn't seem like a complete disaster so far, which for a modern EA game is high praise. I know some people are flipping out over Isaac talking but as long as it's not like a Sony game where he's Marvel quipping every 5 seconds I'm fine with it.
"Because you were my everything. And if I let you go, I have nothing left."Who knows how Isaac talking will impact the story, but they absolutely made the right call in getting Gunner back.
Gunner is Isaac as far as I'm concerned, having anyone else voicing him would've clashed too much with 2 & 3.
Some details from the stream:
-Gunner Write returns to voice Isaac, but he'll only speak when interacting with other characters.
-The dismemberment system is divided into two parts, stripping away the flesh to expose the bone, and breaking the bone to cut the limb off (dangling is a possibility if some flesh remains). You'll need to target the exposed bone to cut the limb, shooting anywhere else will only damage the flesh.
-This system provides utility for weapons like the pulse rifle and flamethrower, both can rapidly expose bones.
-To accommodate the DS2 zero-g mechanics, some areas will be redesigned to make better use of the mobility.
-The story will follow the main beats of the original, but will give more insight into other characters like Nicole.
-They reiterated that stuff like the anime and sequels will be referenced in the remake to some extent.
All in all, some good stuff here. Happy to see them interact with the community, wish more developers did that.
for me the question remains - why?On one hand, I hate EA and loathe them for what they did to Visceral and Dead Space in general.
But on the other, this doesn't seem like a quick cash grab. It seems like they are really trying here, and with good results.
I'll be watching a little closer for more updates like this, but they are surprisingly on the right track.
and the N7 suit (although that was in the third game I think). Also, it’s a small thing but I want the console-specific suits back
the PS3 suit looks too similar to the tank suit with the color scheme and the Xbox 360 suit was sweet. Hope we get to customize suit colors if there's a tacked on Horde Co-op mode unlike the 50 security suit "variations" in DS2's Multiplayer.Really I hope they use the DS2 suit system, upgrades and maximum HP carry over but suit effects remain unique to what you wear.

That white and lime-green combo is crisp.
Bonus points if when Isaac talks to someone he flips up the helmet Downfall style

Retain the classic “suit up” animation at the stores but this would be cool to have, maybe not in all custscenes but once or twice in person and during RIG calls would be cool.
Dead Space "needs" a remake more in the sense that they need to show EA that people do care about the series and don't want it to have ended like it did, bastardized to hell.Well color me surprised. It genuinely just looks like a remake of Dead Space rather than a complete overhaul. Still, looking at the gameplay footage, the original Dead Space holds up incredibly well because of its lighting and it hiding lower quality assets using lighting, which sort of validates the point that Dead Space probably wasn't old enough to need a remake.
They mentioned earlier they were going to do that, actually. They're definitely not half-assing it, so I'm wondering what happened to reality if EA is making a quality remaster of a beloved product.I disagree with adding ds2 zero g. Unless they are going to rework rooms like the centrifuge.
Two options, dimensional merge has fucked everything to the point of being unrecognizable or EA is lulling everyone into a false sense of security before hitting us with surprise bullshit. They mentioned earlier they were going to do that, actually. EA saw the writing on the wall with RE2 remake and the comeback success of Resident Evil (mommy milkers) and there’s some investor confidence in horror again. If this is successful we might see DS4 or DS3 redux. Two options, dimensional merge has fucked everything to the point of being unrecognizable or EA is lulling everyone into a false sense of security before hitting us with surprise bullshit.
tbh I never was concerned about that, it's a AAA game after all. heck one of TLOU2's good parts are the technical aspects. and it's not what the people hate the game for.Well color me surprised. I mean, at least something good has to come out of Clown World, right? I mean, if everything is upside down, why not EA?Two options, dimensional merge has fucked everything to the point of being unrecognizable or EA is lulling everyone into a false sense of security before hitting us with surprise bullshit.
