I'm surprised GGST is pushing numbers bigger than SFV and T7. I know Strive sold way higher numbers than the average anime fighter, but it still doesn't compare to SF and Tekken sales numbers. I guess being much later in the lifespan for those other games, and GGST having good in match netcode factors a lot into the outcome.

WB tends to "juice" the prize pool for their games - meaning that people will sign up for those sweet sweet $$$. It's how SonicFox keeps topping the 'Fighitng Game Money Earned' lists despite not playing a game worth playing.

Multiversus will have whatever it earns through registrations + $100,000 added to the prize pool, for example.

Granblue going off harder than I thought but this is probably its last standing so its cool to see it doing numbers before DNF duel comes and shit the bed.

MBTL also doing well despite its rough track record.

I'm sure it'll be tons of DQs from capcom's side though since it'll be SF6 cabs around.

If you expected more for SG you are delusional (which many SG fans are). SG is a 10 year old game that went like 5 years out of the limelight.

Strive is the new hotness and this is the first EVO it's at. SFV and T7 are on the way out.

Tekken 7 is particularly old by fighting game standards, and it's expected we'll get confirmation that T8 is coming at this year's EVO due to the lack of balance patches, new seasons, etc.

It's sad when Skullgirls is picked over SamSho. I refused to touch SamSho when Warden and some Chinese Mobile Gacha bitch were added to the game, but how bad was SamSho? Something about it looked off (besides the shitty DLC).

Nah, it's just old and I get the sense from most of the FGC that everyone's waiting for Tekken 8 to be announced in the next year or so.

What did you expect? SamSho had terrible management by going to EGS on PC first and had no rollback netcode. That game never got the chance to shine thanks to SNK.

As if Skullgirls hasn't been sanitized the hell out of enough, there are already plans on censoring out Parasoul's red arm bands from the game as well, according to The Cutting Floor wiki, which sucks. Also, I have no faith in T8 with how bad the devs and Harada butchered the story and characters after T4. I mean, why be sympathic towards a character that's done a lot of terrible actions towards his family and other characters anyways?

No one should be surprised by Skullgirls at this point. It's such a bad game, and I regret buying it on release (I found out Runka Chunk was in it after buying it, and I don't want to give her and Christina Vee any money). Skullgirls was a big mistake.

Harada took Tekken to the shitter with every iteration after Vanilla 5, which was the last decent Tekken game (Lili, Lars, and friends really ruined the game Lili and Asuka doing the most damage). Turning Heihachi into a "Dindu nuffin he gud boi" in T7 was absolutely stupid because he was always meant to be a dick, but what he did to other characters like Julia, Steve, and Eddy was much worse (What the fuck did they do to Julia?!). Eddy became Chloe's bitch because Harada was still butthurt about the negative reception and people saying she's a legit wasted character slot. Eddy and Christina didn't deserve that at all. Jin didn't fair much better. Jin goes all evil, but suddenly he's now a misunderstood bad guy who killed millions to save billions for nearly offing himself to a fucking blue chicken that lost to punch spams? After doing a lot of shitty things? Um...ok, Harada. Lars is a unlikable cunt.

I don't want to see Tekken 8 after what I've seen with Tekken 7 because if you followed it since day-one, it's more or less the second worst Tekken game despite the fighting game community praises it (They protected this game because the FGC couldn't afford another SFV shit show). Chloe caused some drama, the Asians were iffy with the arcade game releases especially when halfway through Vanilla the core mechanics or side stepping got changed up (they got used to it), and a lot of the new characters were shitty and forgettable (No one like Chloe and Gigas,
Josie is a forgettable whiny cunt, and no one gives a shit about Claudio and Kat). Even the console version had problems on release like a patch screwing up customized items that used the the black color. It's messed up how the DLC costs more than the shitty game itself (I know they released a "complete" version, but still). Funny thing happened during T7's development or after it got released in Japanese arcades. Mike Murray, Harada's translator, tried to hype T7 at cons in 2015, but got butthurt when he didn't get praise and asspats for a game only played by Asians and a few schmucks in NY and SoCal (the only way you could play it back then was if you went to Asian arcades, or saw a machine at events). He got really angry when someone explained why SFV was getting more hype than Tekken 7 (because no one really got to play it until it came out on consoles). Mike and Harada are cunts. Oh yea, I could be wrong, but the arcade version of Tekken 7 allowed you to buy cosmetics with real cash.

I hope whoever thought it was a good idea to put a shitty faggot from Final Fantasy 15 into a Tekken game gets cancer.

So no one cares about covid now and any news about any sort of outbreak because of evo no one will bat an eye to. But what will be REALLY funny to learn about is any sort of monkeypox outbreaks that happen because of evo. I'd say chances are lower because smash isn't there this year, but on the other hand there's multiversus...
