Gosh, the guy who mouthed off to Lucas when he was looking to buy candy was blushing, assuming the guy even exists which I don't believe, but I guess that means Casper wants to fuck Lucas huh?
Edit: has anyone else noted that a lot of these things that Lucas hears people saying which seem utterly implausible tend to take the form of self-critical insults, like from a tiny, buried internal conscience? Like for example, telling him he shouldn't be buying candy because of his diabetes? How would a total stranger know whether Lucas is diabetic or not? He's mentioned before the word "bitch" coming from the background noise, or people calling him "stupid" or "retard" from the background noise, I think this is all Lucas unable to realize that his lack of self-confidence, his internal critical voice, is such, and manifesting it as something physical in the outside world...
Do you remember when he said, "All your friends told you to go with me, but you heard something in the background, telling you not to go with me, and the voice was so faint that you thought you thought it"?
Ignoring from his awkward sentence construction, it seems that even Lucas has conflated the Voices on the Wind with internal thoughts, even though he seems to have attributed them to other people's internal thoughts, rather than his own.
