That would require a ret con that she isn't dead, and alex ashford didn't take DNA from her embalmed body.
But hey Resident evil has had sillyer shit in it then, JK NOT REALLY DEAD.
Honestly, if they made it to where the woman is a clone of Veronica Ashford derived from the preserved remains or is some unseen Ashford relative trying to restore the family line and its prestige, it would be one of the more realistic story lines in Resident Evil.
I'll be honest, I would love to have more about Edward Ashford's backstory explored in the series.
From what I can tell, the few things we do know about him sort of implied he was the "token good guy" among Umbrella's founders and he honestly just wanted to run a medical company and do legit research.
It was Spencer and Marcus were all into the kooky eugenics and conspiracy nonsense. Edward Ashford just wanted to
One of the fan theories is that Spencer had Edward killed and made it look like an accident since he knew Alexander Ashford would be easier to control.
If they do go the Ashford route (unlikely), I'd maybe tease that she's a clone of Veronica but then it turns out she's just Edward Ashford's granddaughter and that Alexander Ashford had a brother or sister or something.
Is alfred really a clone if he male and the oringal person was female.
I would assume having A XY rarther then 2 X's would make it no longer a clone.
Maybe I am just looking too deep into a game series about the aftermath of a pharm company turned Bio weapons Company that Claim to fame is Zombies, and other monsters that are mostly just accidents.
I got the feeling that Alfred and Alexia weren't so much clones but more like test tube babies and that Alexander used preserved tissues from Veronica's body in the process somehow.
